First timer scared advice please

Hi all im new here

Just need to some advice as not sure who to turn too

I found out i am roughly 5 weeks pregnant which is a shock as i tried to conceive for years

My hcg was 155 and has now gone up to 458 im 48 hours. My scan is booked for 2 weeks time..

The worrying thing for me is my last period was 27th nov so really i should be 8 weeks? I have pcos so very very irregular cycles is this normal?

Also was thinking of going private tuesday and have an early scan is this worth it?

How have you worked out that you are 5 weeks? Did you add on the 2 weeks like you should? Early scan is only worth goinfg when you are at least 6 weeks as cannt guarantee theyll hear heartbeat. If you are certain you are around 8 weeks then you could get an early scan....shop around as there are ususlly offers. Ive got on 5th feb and it cost me £39. The hcg levels suggest you are definately earlier on that 8 weeks....hcg doubles every couple of days so if you are 8 weeks, youd expect it to be in the thousands. Is there a possibility you ovulated later in cycle? And are you sure of your dates? Hope you manage to get a scan and some reassurance regarding dates.

i personally wouldnt have an additional early scan if you are already booked for one in 2 weeks which is already an early scan.

Thank you so much for your guidance. The gyno did an internal and estimated that. Im hoping i just ovulated late as my periods are so irregular and i can miss months sometimes *praying this goes ok*

i've never heard of a gyno doing an internal for dating or actually for any kind of routine pregnancy thing at all, are you in the UK? How on earth can you date a pregnancy by feeling about internally?!!!

I am in the uk. My partner took me to A and E 4 days ago with very bad adominal pains. Where they did a urine sample and bloods which confirmed i was preg. They then called the gynos who work on the early pregnancy unit to come and see me they said they wanted to check my cervix etc and said all looked ok and estimated 4 weeks. Then discharged me. Went for bloods yesterday luckily my hcg had risen. I did a clear blue which said i was 2-3 weeks

ah ok a clearblue saying 2-3 weeks would probably make you 4-5 weeks so only conceived 2-3 weeks ago you must have had a very long cycle. No point having an earlier early scan as they wont scan til 6 weeks at earliest. Its good you have an NHS early scan booked all the best for that!
