I have my first cervical screening test next week.
I'm nervous! Not because of what's going to happen, more the fact that when I gave birth I had stitches. I know it sounds stupid but what if the stitches split or something?
I know they probably won't but I can't get that disgusting thought out of my head.
Me and OH also haven't had sex since LO was born for the exact same fear :(

How old is your LO??

You should be fine though. Explain your a bit nervous - you'll not be the first or the last.

On my iPhone - so cant see tickers :(

I had that at 5 weeks after birth. It was absolutely fine and it don't hurt at all. I was surprised really. But them after the pains of the labour probably nth could impress me lol.

Just tell them to take it slowly. You will be fine :)

My LO is 4 months old!

I know it's stupid of me to think the stitches will some how split after 4 months but it's just a thought I can't seem to get over at the moment :wall2::wall2::wall2:

The stitches will have dissolved within a few weeks. After 6 weeks the tear/cut would have been healed up totally. After 12 weeks it would have totally meshed together as though it wasn't there (subject to possible scar). If there was anything wrong. I am just recovering from a gynae op so am an expert of thd healing of stitches in that area!! Try not to worry

I'm due a first smear in a couple weeks but thankfully I have fully healed down there, me and oh DTD for the first time on Friday and it was fine. Lovely Infact. I had stitches too I just made sure I went for a bath after DTD and made sure I was clean. Wasn't sore atall xxxx

I had my first smear couple weeks ago and got myself worked up like nowt on earth and it wasnt like the times before I had Elise it was absolutely fine and the nurse realli put me at ease and said your muscles are softer after having children and you dont fight against it as much and she was right xx

I had my first smear on Thursday, you have noting to worry about with it, I didn't feel a thing, was over in 15seconds.

Also you will be healed. X
