Afternoon Ladies,

I got my first BFP last weekend :bfp:, and will be 6 weeks tomorrow. I was waiting to be referred to the fertility clinic for PCOS diagnosis so this was a very pleasant shock!

I do have to ask, is anyone else nervous as hell about the coming few weeks? I never expect anything to run smoothly, and this probably doesn't help me feeling nervous and worried at the moment!

we are planning on telling our parents on Xmas Day, and will be telling them to keep it quiet for now, as we don't want it public until the first scan.

I just can't shift this nervous/worried feeling!!! Please tell me I am not the only one feeling like this?

Kirsty

On my first pregnancy I felt worried, but you do relax into it. It is a long time to stay worried! You will get used to it :-)

Thank you! I know, the OH keeps saying that all the worrying wont help! so trying to relax a little :)

It's completely natural to be worried Kirsty especially if it's been a bit of a journey to get here!! I'm on number 4 and have worried with them all! My only advice is try to enjoy the pregnancy as much as you can and keep busy to keep your mind off the worry. You'll be fine ☺ and huge congratulations by the way, lovely news xx

Congratulations Kirsty, what a nice surprise. I know how you feel - I'm currently 9 weeks pregnant with my first pregnancy having been diagnosed with PCOS 16 years ago and I'm so nervous! It's taken a long time to get here so I can't help but worry that something will go wrong. People keep telling me to relax, saying the stress isn't good for me but it's easier said than done. Hang on in there!

Thanks Ladies! MissGoose it's far more easier said than done!

I am definitely enjoying it so far... It's was a lovely start to a week off :)

Congratulations! :D Keep busy and focus on the milestones you set yourself :) Either pregnancy related or not, first one, Christmas then New Years, any birthdays? Valentines day etc etc It'll help the weeks pass without it being all consuming! I'm pregnant with baby number 3 and have bad anxiety so focusing on those things help alot :) xXx

I'm constantly worried. Like you said, I can't imagine this going smoothly for me. I'm convinced there will be a problem. Each time I get confirmation that everything is going right - scan, blood results, hearing the heartbeat - I'm ok for a day or two and then I'm back to expecting something to go wrong any minute.

I don't think any woman goes through this without worrying, but some of us are naturally worriers anyway and maybe have a tougher time of it.

Oh, and being told 'worrying isn't going to help', also doesn't help! Neither does 'I told you everything would be fine' repeatedly as we go along and things remain on track.

If you start feeling physical effects of this worry turning to anxiety then you should talk to your midwife or doctor, they can help.

I'm with you. I too am also worried. This is my first pregnancy too and I am 6+4 today. I feel like I just want somebody else to confirm it for me even though I have taken 4 pregnancy tests all with very strong BFP lines. It's hard to relax until we get it confirmed I feel. Are you having any symptoms?

Oh and congrats!! :) xx

If it helps any, I feel the same way right now. I'm about 4 weeks and i'm scared as hell too. Every little thing makes me worry i'm having a miscarriage. You're not alone.

Thanks again ladies!

Summer- yes boobs are horrific, mood swings almighty, nausea is coming over in waves and won't stop!

Flick- what a fantastic idea! Xmas, New Years, booking in app, scan, Valentine's and my birthday at the end of Feb! I will focus on them! Thanks Hun :)

Sammie- I will keep an eye on it, I have had anxiety before, so should hopefully know what I am looking out for!

Tanya- that sounds so reminiscent! I worry that everything I do is going to cause an MC! I am with you on that Hun!

Thanks again ladies xx

Just wanted to say congratulations and as you can see you're definitely not alone with the worrying. I'd love to say it stops when they're born but it doesn't! It's best to take it one day at a time and focus on living in the moment not worrying about the what ifs. Not always easy I know.
Xx

Ah yes, once they're born. I asked OH when this tiredness is going to stop ... Promptly reminded it'll stop in about 18years

Hello!!

I am now on my second pregnancy and I am so much more relaxed than the first time, I remember what it was like and like most people have said, it is scary and perfectly normal to worry!

This time round I have lots of different worries that I wouldn't have had the first time! Such as having two kids, how to balance having two kids, where i am going to put a baby in a two bedroom flat etc, its all a bit out of my depth!

Honestly on your first all the appointments are incredibly exciting, lots of things to look forward to and of course labour and all that cool stuff on the lead up to meeting a little tiny person you will love unconditionally! it really is magical xx

I can't say I'm overly excited about the labour part .. Haha!

Hi, i have PCOS too and am feeling a bit nervous. I'm going to get a private early reassurance scan in the new year at about 7-8weeks so I can just check everything is ok x
