at what stage do you have your first period after giving birth?

i think im having mine now. riley is 2months old.

i hope im having it anyway, otherwise there is a big problem :?

Mine was when Nathan was 11 weeks old. Not to sure if it was gonna come anyway or cos I had just gone on the pill a few days before.

I had the bleeding that didnt hurt and then about a weeks break and i culd tell i was back on the rag again cos of the cramps :(
but i got dtraight back on that pill!

Im on mine now and Evan is 9 weeks old. The strange thing is, i have absolutely no pain whatsoever. if it wasnt for the bleeding you wouldnt think I was on my period. It really odd! My OH Says that my body doesnt acknowledge it as pain anymore after giving birth! :rotfl:

Hi keslo :D

I bled for about 6 weeks after my daughter was born, the lochia was like a very light period loss.

I didn't get my first period though, until after Naomi was about 12 weeks old. Breastfeeding can affect it though.

Hope this helps

Sue

My first one was so heavy that I couldnt leave the house, it was awful :(

Mine was about 15 weeks after I had her, was lighter than they used to be, have had 2 now and they're better than they ever were before. But breastfeeding does hold off your period, so I wouldn't worry about it being later than you were expecting, some breastfeeders don't have a period until they stop

That's true - but you do - I repeat - you do ovulate! Breastfeeding can stop you getting pg but it is not a surefire method! I know of one woman who got pregnant when her twins were five weeks old! And she was breastfeeding!
