hiya, thomas spent his first night in his cot lastnight after moving out of his crib,
all went fine execpt he kept ending up at the top of the crib and getting cold as he can crawl upwards but not back down,i was just wondering if anyone knows anyway of stopping this happening as i dont want him getting cold everynight,
he doesnt wear a sleepsuit to bed only a vest as he overheats to quickly in then and i hate those sleeping bag things so he cant go in one of them, he just has blankets to cover him,
i cant really just put him to bed at the top of the cot as hes really short (22 inches) and so really needs to be at the bottom in the foot to feet place
thanks for any ideas/help
xx

hmm im not sure. why don't you like the sleeping bags? i used one over winter last year for Oliver and it was great for him. So much easier than worrying if he was covered.

the only other thing would be maybe getting the seperator type thing that goes in the cot to cut the length of the cot down. so that he can be at the bottom of the crib, but also the panel is just above his head too.

did he sleep well being his first night in it? that's great if he did!

i dunno i just dont like the thought of him not being able to kick the covers off if he gets to hot, hes like me and overheats really easily :(
will have to look into the seperator do you no where to buy them from?
yep he sleep fine think he enjoyed having the extra room
xx

I didn't use the sleeping bags with EVie at first but she'd kick off her covers and get cold so tried it and now she sleeps much better. I didn't use it last night and she woke up at 4am- put her in bed with me and nearly jumped out again when she put her freezing cold foot on me!

I'd try the sleeping bags too when Sam isn't in his he never has a very good nights sleep as i found out at 3am this morning when he wanted to play  and he normally sleeps straight through!

I'd try a separator too to stop him moving up.

il try a seperator as he doesnt kick his covers off so its not a problem for him just when he moves as they dont move with him lol
if not il use a sleeping bag i have 4  i was given then :)

Sleeping bags are great I find. So long as you have a 1 tgo and a 2.5 tog then you can mix it up as the temp and LO needs.

We find Galen never really get too hot and if he does stir and seem overly warm we simply pop him into the lighter bag or change from sleepsuit to long sleeved body suit or some such.

Also as I don't have to keep stirring to put the covers back on its so much easier. And in winter I think you might find the sleeping bags come into their own on cold nights.

thanks so much hun i will get one off ebay today hopefully it wont take long to arrive :)
thanks all

I didn't see the point in sleeping bags to begin with, now I wouldn't be without them. Never say never especially with winter coming!

i have put my v pillow in the cot up the top end and put the bedsheet over that so he cant crawl over it and its worked he has stayed in 1 place all night long so far and hes been in there since 6 :)
thanks all for your help
xx
