First mw appointment booked :)

Hey ladies
Just rang the docs to book in to see the mw, my appointment is 30th november, yay!!
Cant wait for it all to start, but its weird because i dont feel like im in a rush this time. With my first it was new and i was so impatient because i never knew what to expect and was just always on a constant countdown. This time i feel so much more relaxed about it. Im soooo excited but kind of feel like its not real? 6 positive tests say differently (haha) but i just dont feel preg at all? Apart from a funny taste in my mouth, thats about it? Im only still very early and no doubt the symptoms will start to kick in soon, but so far im feeling fine. (will regret saying that soon!!)

Did you go to see your doctors when you found out? The receptionist said i can see my dr if i want to confirm it, but i said theres no point really as ive done tests at home.
Ive worked out my due date which is around the 6th july, but thats based on a 32day cycle. I only had one full cycle after coming off the pill, so i dont know if all my cycles would have been that length or it was just longer as it was the first?

Sorry if im rambling im just excited and have such a busy head!!

I've known for a week and still not called my Dr yet - will call to book an appointment today.

Not sure if they'll send me straight to midwife? I guess I'll find out when call them

Aww Kanga - both times when I made my Dr's appointment I started to bleed before appointment came up, so I am shitting myself about booking this one.

I will call on Wed's I think and try to get something for early next week (when I see Dr I would have hit my 6 weeks - getting to 6 weeks is my ultimate aim at the moment)

I agree getting past 6 weeks seems to be a huge milestone to hit. I was going to phone the midwife early so she could book me an early scan but with my oh's job he probably wouldn't be able to make a scan at short notice as his work are arses. So we have decided to book a private scan instead, cos u can book them for the weekend. so the rush to phone the midwife isnt there now. xx

I think we'll go for a private scan too.

If I go to the EPU I will have to go in and wait as long as it takes with no guarentee of even being seen (they wont book an appointment for this I have to go as a walk in...) Having waited 5 hours in the EPU when I was actually having a M/C and was referred by a GP I don't fancy my chances of being seen as a walk-in with no 'problems'

Not even sure how I go about booking a private early scan though?

i just did a google search for early reassurance scan in portsmouth, obviously u would have to do ur area but all the websites offering scans pop up. Search around for the best price xx

Kanga i didnt even know u could go for early scans? Do u get to see it? I had 6 scans with my first and they went from looking like a kidney bean to only fitting half his face on the pic! Haha x

U can pay to have scans done, i think it would be the best way for me this time. I'm not sure the epu would give me an early scan because I've only had 1 mc. xx

i rung the doctors a week ago on friday, i was gonna wait a while but i just couldnt, i was too excited hehe, i have my appointment 22nd November it cant come quick enough, gonna be 8 weeks (ish) by then eeek!!! xx

In my area you have to see the doctor first and then the mw contacts you for a booking in appointment. I saw my doc last week to get the ball rolling, like you Dee I was too excited to wait and wanted to make sure I'd definitely get booked in for a scan before Christmas xxx

I bit the bullet and left a message with my midwife that I saw in june. She said I could phone her when I got pregnant again. Hopefully she phones me back sometime this week. xx

OK ladies - you made me do it too.

I have to see my GP before anything else so I started by making an appointment... Although they can't see me until the 17th November

(I had to take a really early morning or really late evening appointment hence the wait)

That will make me over 7 weeks though??? On the upside I am seeing the GP who specialises in pregnancy.

I am not too fussed about waiting, as long as I am still pregnant at this point I do not care about having a scan before Xmas etc..

I have decided that we'll most likely go private for an early scan so will do that the following week after seeing the Dr. After that we'll tell our nearest and dearest.

I don't think I'll get my 12 week scan before Xmas and I don't want to put too much emphasis on having things done by X date. It would be lovely to know things are all OK but if not it will be something to look forward to in the New year

As long as I stay pregnant I am a happy bunny!
