First Gynae appt!

I have my first Gynae appointment this morning, and I'm feeling really nervous! I suppose my biggest worry is that I'll leave there without feeling like anything is moving along.
In one way I'm really scared of all the potential tests, like HSG and lap & dye etc, but in another way I'm worried they wont think its necessary - what a contradiction!
I've only ever had progesterone tested on my 21 day bloods, I dont think Ive ever had FSH, so that will prob be next, and hopefully a scan. I'm not getting my hopes up too much as things move so slowly around here - I was referred for this appt back in the beginning of April, and I had to phone up constantly and make a pain of myself to get it this quickly!

Thanks girls! What a long day...

It all went really well - although I got the impression we were watching the clock a bit. He was very nice and asked me if I had any questions etc. I've been referred for an internal ultrasound, a HSG and 3 consecutive 21 day bloods again. OH has been asked to produce another sample too - something I dont think he was expecting! haha!
He said that even though I was 35 soon, he didnt think it was necessary to do LH and FSH ratio tests as it looks as though Im ovulating as Im pretty regular...

I also had an internal exam while I was there, and he said he could feel something on my right ovary and thought it may be a large cyst although he said he didnt think I was likely to have PCOS.

Anyway - its all moving in the right direction now which is good, tho its scary thinking of all those tests, as I've heard the HSG can be pretty uncomfortable?

Ahh sounds like it went well Hun, he seems nice and through.

I hope you're appointments come through nice and quick.

Try not to worry that you've got a cyst, where are you in your cycle, do you reckon it could have been a follicle?

I've got a hysteroscopy on Friday so I'll let you know what it's like it will be similar I guess.

Oh Hun, good luck! I'm sure it will be fine, it only lasts about 10 mins so not the end of the world! And they promise a cup of tea afterwards which is always a bonus

I also wondered if it could have been a follicle, but I'm day 19 and about 4 dpo which I told him so I would have thought he would have considered that? I'm not sure if there would still be a follicle at 4dpo?

It's good that he was proactive and wanted to get all the tests done. I'm sure your hysteroscopy will be fine, and at least it only needs to be done once and then you will have some answers!

No I've not had anything like that before, but been looking into it all recently. Part of me is hoping I will get my bfp before the HSG comes along! I'm not holding out much hope tho!

Hi am new to this fourm.
Me and my hubby been ttc our 2nd baby for 2years now, starting to feel really depressed now as i feel my body is to blame.
Anyways i have my first Gyn app tomorrow, and am worried and anxious about the findings.
I have previously had cervical pre cancerous cells removed n wonder if this has anythin to do with my reason off not falling pregnant.
Anyone had trouble with second chils and it eventully happed.
Need some advise.xxxxxxxxxx
