First baby early - will the second be?

Hi
I am pregnant with my second baby and was wondering who has experience of second babies after the first was early? Charlotte was 6 or 8 days early (depending on whose dates you take) with no complications and I have seen 2 midwives who both say that the second is likley to be early as well. The baby is due 7 Jan so with Christmas and all was wondering if anyone else has experience?

Im afraid its anyones guess... Id be a very rich woman if I could tell that!!

Chances are baby could be early as mabey your body dont carry till the end. 2nd babys are usually more on time than 1st babys, so... this could mean you get a december baby?...

My first baby was exactly a week early, so i got to 39 weeks preggers with my second one, got all excited and....nothing She ended up being 5 days late, lol.

My 1st baby was born at exactly 39 weeks after my waters braking at 38+5 days. When I was expecting my 2nd baby the consultant wrongly told me that I would probably be the same. NO! She was induced at 40+11 and then my 3rd was born at 40+5 after a sweep. You just never can tell.

my midwife said its very likly if you had 1 preterm the next will be to.. 1st of mine was 37 weeks dead on 2nd was 36+5

my first was 9 days late, my second was 2 weeks early, my third was 9 days early and my 4th was 11 days late.
so i had 2 early and 2 late, the babies just come when they are ready i think.

Thanks ladies. I am hoping the baby will be born as far a way from Christmas as possible, but I have a bit of difficulty as my parents live at least a couple of hours away and I will need someone to look after Charlotte when I go in. Looks like my Mum will need to move in for a while! If the baby is a week late, it will be born on my birthday!

My first was a week early and my second a day early. Dont think that there is any rile to it though, they come when they come!

My first baby was 7 weeks early, the second was a week overdue!!

my mum said that i was early and my brother was late i think she had to be induced with my bro!

so no i would say it doesnt necessarily mean you will have an early baby if your first was!
