i am about to go to my first anti natal exercise class and i am soooooo excited!!

I teach dance, so think i am quite fit... but as my bump gets bigger, i feel less and less fit!
i taught classes from 9am until 6pm on saturday, and was almost comatose when i got home, whereas it usually does not phase me at all!
So been told to do less in the childrens classes, but do some specific pregnancy exercise classes....
will update when i get back.... not sure what to expect, or how many ladies will be there but should be a giggle!

Is any one else going to classes?

ive been looking into them, will go if everything is OK at my extra scan next week. let us know all the details, enjoy hunny xx

I've got my name on a yoga waiting list, can't find any other specific pregnancy classes locally though so still do what ever I fancy I just tell the instructor I'm pregnant. Done spinning today, that's knocked me out more than normal!

I just booked mine! Will be interesting to hear what you think of them!

Well it was great! I was the only one there though!! The rain must have stopped lots of people coming! We did low impact exercise, weights on the pilates ball, stretching on the mats and then relaxation at the end! It was really good... Toning up the arms and back for carrying a baby plus changing bag etc. Pelvic floor and inside thighs etc.... Tummy strengthening all good... Enjoyed it! Almost fell asleep in the rlaxation though as i got 2 hours of sleep last night thanks to horrendous stretching pains all night!!

Xxx

so you would recommend? i always think i might do something to the baby! i really need to get that out of my head x

I can't seem to find any near me! But I live in the land of 'having children at 14 and bringing it up on cider and fags' so i assume there isnt much call for classes like that :(

YES!! would def recommend! The instructor explains what you do, why you do it and what effect it has. she constantly asked how i was feeling and set mind at rest. Just make sure they are qualified and you will be in good hands!!
I really enjoyed it!!
I am a very active person, and want to carry on teaching dance for as long into the pregnancy as i can, but am aware i do need to dial it down a bit, so the class was a great way for me to exercise knowing it was safe!!

I did one of these at about 22 weeks, my hospital runs them called 'early bird physiotherapy antenatal class' it was great I got loads of exercises to do for lower tummy muscles and pelvic floor and loads of advice. The physiotherapy who ran it said that the normal antenatal classes cover the same exercises but because you don't attend them until later on in tri3 they run it as an earlybird one so we can have the benefit of the exercise for longer!! If your hospital offers them like ceris I'd defo recommend :)
