I've mentioned in other threads but my doctors surgery didn't bother to send the paperwork off to the midwives so I've had to chase it through and now I won't get my scan until I am 13 and half weeks and don't even meet a midwife until I am 14 and half weeks. Did anyone else have to wait so long? I seriously cannot thank the god that is Google enough or I wouldn't have a clue what things I should be avoiding, or what I should actively being doing etc etc etc.

Just wondered if anyone else got forgotten?

No fortunatly mine have been very good. I feel so sorry for you that you have to wait this long. I hope you have complained to your doctors about the poor service you have received! Have you asked if they could push it through quicker and get you an earlier scan date? In the circumstances this would seem a reasonable request xx

It would seem so wouldn't it. Unfortunately because they didn't know I existed, all appointments before that were taken do this is the first available. I haven't spoken to my doctors surgery at all to be honest. Generally I don't like the staff their (receptionists speaking very poorly to elderly people etc) so just want to avoid it, although, next time I have an appointment so have to go I will bring it up.

That is really poor service.
My Dr told me my results would be back in 2 days and they would call me if positive but I could call and check anyway, So I called after 2 days and the results hadn't even come back, so I rang the next day late afternoon and they were back and Positive however they didn't call. I think some Dr's just forget about you.
I now have to wait until 8 weeks to see Midwife and then make appt for scan. Don't know if this is correct procedure as my first.

hope all goes well when you finally get your scan and booking appt.
xx

Sorry for the delay Zoeox, this is my first too so I really don't know the procedure either. Alll I know is that everyone I know that's had a child has had their scan by this time and certainly met a midwife........

Think I will write a letter of complaint to the Practice Manager at my surgery, I don't suppose it will do much good but I think I will feel a bit better getting it off my chest.........

I'm 7 weeks and 2 days and waiting for a letter for an appointment with my midwife. I went to my GP when I was 4 weeks pregnant and she said it would be automatic and I'd get an appointment between 8-10 weeks, and that I would receive my letter 2 weeks before my appointment, so now I'm starting to worry that my paperwork hasn't gone through either and wondering if I should give them a call soon...
Zoeox, as far as I know it's normal procedure to see the midwife at 8 weeks, or even a little later, and then book the scan. It sometimes seems like a lot of people have scans sooner, but that's usually because they are at high risk because of age, diabetes or similar or that they've had previous miscarriages. The rest of us will have to wait...
But we should definitely not have to wait as long as Kerrykins had to! That's not good at all :-/ Sorry hun! Hope they will take better care of you from now on!
And writing a letter is probably a good idea, if for nothing else then at least to get some of that anger off your chest!

I've had my first meeting with a midwife, but now almost 12 weeks and no sign about my scan appointment. Aaaaargh!!

I know I have to wait until 8 weeks, which I am now, just waiting to hear from the midwife now. Seems many people getting pregnant around here though. But no-one should have to wait that long your right.
Hope everything goes well and you hear something soon xx
