Hi all, I just wondered if anyone had five babies, or had a baby age 40+?
I am 41 and expecting out fifth baby in June. My labours have been fairly straightforward:-
Baby 1 - Induced at almost 42 weeks - lasted 14 hours, normal delivery
Baby 2 - Induced at 37+ weeks - fast delivery 50 minutes
Baby 3 - arrived on due date, half hour after waters broke!! Very fast!!!!
Baby 4 - induced at 38 weeks due to polyhydramnious (probably spelt wrong) four hour labour, very tough.

I thought my fourth baby would fly out but no such luck. I've never had an epidural and feel I've been very lucky really.

My only totally natural labour (without induction) was so much easier, less severe and overall, a more pleasant experience so I want to avoid induction if possible however, the hospital have said because I am over 40, they probably won't let me go full term?

Does anyone have any similar experience? Xx

I've just replied to your other thread, but I too am hoping to avoid being induced. I was induced last time as my waters broke at 37&2, and I was going to be induced the next day as no contractions had started, but I had another bleed that evening so they induced me straight away. It was a 5 hour but very painful labour so I'm hoping to go natural this time. I've just turned 40 and they are letting me go 2 weeks over before induction. I'm due tomorrow and having a sweep at my midwife appointment, so fingers crossed that triggers the start of labour! x
