Hi please need help ,

So today i got my letter of referal where i need to book an appointment . So i went to the choose and book site but an not sure how to choose the hospital ? And ideas ?

And what happens at this appointment ?

Thanks ladies xx

We didn't get a choice of hospital so no idea, I guess you just need to look at your options and decide which one you prefer.

At our first app we filled in loads of paperwork, discussed what we had been doing, how long ttc, discussed vitamins and diet, booked appointments for further testing etc.

With choose and book you decide which hospital you want your appointment to be at, with our first appointment it was just forms, discussing process, bloods etc

Thanks girl what is confusing me is there is nothing to pick from ?

I don't know how the online system works, our GP referred us and the hospital sent us a letter saying ring this number for an appointment. Actually I just remembered, we did get a choice of hospital but it was with the same consultant just a different location. Is there a number you can call instead if it isn't working?

Oh really? Yeah there should be as section somewhere to choose ?

Maybe ring them up if there isn't any showing. I hate how they send letters to go online and book an appt lol xx

Okay will ring them i wantd to look it up what are the best ones anyone in kent or knoow of link to see their success rates ?

Ooh I'm not sure on that one maybe google to try find the success rates at diff hospitals? Xx

So booked in for may just have to do my best by losing the weight before then

How much have you got to lose? I need to lose 7kg by the end of July for our next app.

Well i am now not to sure been told my bmi should be max 35 if tat is true i still have 11.2 kg to lose but if my bmi should be 30 i have to lose 27 kg feels like i am going to cry , but i want to know do they take into account your bone mass as i am big boned if you use the messure the wrist thing then i dont have to lose that much . I have lost 13.3 kg already since january so think 11.2 kg is possible but 27 kg feels such a big number feel like crying . I have a appointment for the 19 May so fingers crossed i can make it

Massive fingers crossed for you, I'm sure you will make it! :D. I think bmi is so crap haha im 5 foot 1 so mine has to be hardly anything. Our cut off is bmi of 28 and I'm 27. Something. I was so so upset when I found out in case I gained anything else and wasn't allowed to.
If they told you it should be 35 then itl be 35 :) diff areas have different ones I think! Xx

Our BMI cut off is 30 for NHS treatment and 35 for private. They don't take build into account at all. I'm another one that BMI just doesn't work out for as I'm short and broad and strong. :( They will see you and do tests if you are over the BMI but not give treatment.

Really hate this bmi stuff. Surely they could do it based on amount of body fat or something? Lol I'm actually put of excersize because I know i'l gain muscle and put on more xxx

Ours is 28 NHS and 35 private.
But some places have 35 as nhs so fx for you Trivita :)
We'd been thinking of egg sharing depending on results of my HSG and thats bmi of 28.
I swear bmi could promote eating disorders in teenagers lol because yeah I've put on weight from what I was but I don't think I'm massively overweight or anything and yet I'm nearly too 'fat' for treatment! Xx

My gp said 35 but the more i read and google im startng to think they dont know what they are talking about . I just dont get why weight gets blamed if all your tests come back in normal range surely if it is due to fat the readings would be effected
