Hey, on top of all the worries I've had recently I tripped over one of my cats in the kitchen about an hour ago... Managed to twist so I only hit the side of my bump but still a bit worried as have had some squeezing pains like someone's wrapped a huge rubber band round my uterus :/ They're tolerable most of the time but become unbearable if I move...

I called NHS Direct and they said a nurse would call me back in the next 4 hours...

I know if they thought it was serious they would have told me to go to A and E but I can't stop worrying...

Any reassuring words out there to make the wait go a bit easier?

Katie x

I doubt you have done any damage, think of baby in that little bubble all cushioned in nicely :)
Like you said, they would have told you to go to A&E if they were concerned. I'd say if the pain gets any worse then maybe pop down there just for peace of mind, but you've probably just bruised your hip more than anything else! :) x

Aw Katie, I agree with the girls, baby is well protected. A friend of mine fell of a kitchen worktop at 8 months pregnant (dont ask why she was up there) and hurt herself but baby was fine so Im sure NHS direct will let you know if they think you need rushing in for a check xxxx

Still waiting for NHS Direct to call me back and the pains just got so bad I feel sick :(
Have moved from being just across my bump to being my bump, up towards my ribs and down between my legs. Finding breathing difficult as it hurts... Still hoping it's nothing... But this has set my worrying off all over again

Ring them back sweetie and tell them what youre feeling or maybe phone emergency Dr to come out to you if you feel that bad. Its better to be safe than sorry but Im sure its just your body being a bit shocked :(

I hope so :( its been 3 1/2 hours nd they said they'd call back in 4... but if I haven't heard anything soon I'm gonna call.... Gettin scared  x

I have to say Id be frantic but stay positive and calm. Put the telly on, take some deep breaths and get a hot drink. Then if no news in half hour, call them again. *holds hand, deep breaths*

Me OH and a friend are all watchin Top Gear... And I'm strokin a kitty cat to keep me calm... Just my mind runnin in circles  doesnt help when my belly twinges though :/ xx

Hello, just wanted to let you know that I fell over last week, right onto my bump in the middle of the car park. Did't even manage to twist although it was mostly the right side that hit the ground first. it well hurt and for a couple of days after, my ribs, hip and top of my leg all got bashed too but they all seem to be getting much better now, I even have a lovely massie bruise appearing. I burst into tears when i got home but that was just the shock that i had been so daft ( I was running) but as my bump was moving about as normal I never bothered to phone or go to the midwife. I have just kept an eye on it and all is well. I've had no bleeding or cramps and bump has been moving around as per normal. They are very well protected so I'm sure yours will be fine too. :)

Well.... Ended up at AnE last night and was taken to the triage mw on the delivery suite (loadsa mums havin their little ones too, was amazing) but they had a listen in and babys heart is there was just a little bit weaker than normal :/. They said baby will be fine nd I've just got to keep an eye on the pains and call if anything gets worse. Feel very relieved but as I hd to walk 11 miles home (!!!) baby isnt happy and has been kicking the sh** outta me all morning :/

Thank you all for your kind words and support :)

xx

Oh Im so glad youre ok, I thought about you this morning when I was cleaning up. You had to walk 11 miles home???? Are you insane lol
x

Yehh, was too late for the last train and for anyone to pick us up! So we walked.... Took 6 hours ish :) lol xx

Id have got a taxi, although the walking would have done me good!

Couldn't afford it :/ I look at it as some well needed exercise :) xx

:( I must do 6 hours of walking a day at work up and down, back and forth but knowing I had to do it like that Id have moaned all the way lol

Oh I was moanin like a bitch ha ha :)

"I'm cold"
