I'm 18+2 weeks, and I'm pretty sure I can feel my baby from time to time. There's definitely something going on down there.

However, my mum is a nurse and my dad is a doctor, and they refuse to believe me (I live with them) - saying that it's far too early for a first baby to be felt and I'll have to wait till I'm at least 20 weeks gone!

In my view that's just ridiculous. Surely these statistics are just averages? Thats like saying that EVERY baby is born at 40 weeks, which is obviously not true.

So am I feeling my baby move? Argeeee!

xx

Well i have felt flutters from about 12 weeks, everyone told me it couldnt be but i have never felt them before and now i have the doppler i can hear it moving where i am feeling the flutter so go with what you are feeling hun, everyone is different, some peoples placentas are low lying and that is why movement cant be felt until later on

I googled it and first movement can be felt from 13-25 weeks which is a massive variable

hello this is my fisrt pregnancy too...

I felt my baby at 14 weeks - just little flutterings and bubbles, but definately something, then by 16 / 17 weeks it was proper kicks, and by 20 they could be felt and seen from the outside.

You know your body better than anyone, so if you think you can feel it, enjoy it!

xx

I was 17 weeks when I first felt my baby move so I'd say its a definite possibility that you are feeling your baby move - don't listen to your parents, listen to your body ;)

I also felt movements early with my first. I felt flutterings at about 15 weeks. I hope it's the same this time.

You know your body best of all :)

Aww thanks everyone!

I really love feeling him/her so would have felt VERY stupid if it was just gas or something!

Haha xx

I've defo been feeling baby move, and my bump is bigger the opposite side to where I usually feel kicks, so that'll be where the head is. I also have a doppler which is now very clearly picking up the movement at the time time an place that I feel it. :) x

I'm 18+4 and was about to post a similar thread when I saw yours, I can feel movements almost like the baby is flipping over and have been really hoping its the baby, they're quite low down though so is this right? I started feeling it over the last few days and have just been to the cinema and could feel it alot there maybe due to the noise?? I literally felt it just now too and keep my hand there just incase. Does anyone recognise this and do you think it could be baby even this low?? And how long til I can see it from outside so OH can too?? Ooooh its so exciting! Some of yu are very similar to me in weeks does it sound like your feelings??XX

Laura - That's just what I feel! I'm 99% sure it's Baby. And I felt it in the cinema the other night too! :) I don't think the baby can hear outside the womb yet though so could have been the nachos I'd eaten... lol.
I feel it quite low down. I think that's right, cos if it's in your tummy it's more likely to be gas?
I think it's quite a while until movements can be seen from the outside... 7, maybe 8 months? Don't quote me on that though!
But yeh I definitely think you're feeling your baby move!! Ace isn't it, it always puts me in a good mood no matter what xx

hun I felt flutters at 15 weeks and this is my first baby, my midwife dismissed it as she said it was too early but I knew exactly what it was and that was my bubba :D

Ha thats so funny I ate a tray of nachos too! But I feel this at random times now usually when Im sat down relaxing and also when Im in the car so I think the baby may feel the vibrations of the noise and respond! How cool I think it must be the baby we can feel as like you say wind/gas would be in your tummy but this is always low down and is starting to get stronger...cant wait to feel it more and see it!XX

I could feel her moving from 15 weeks, felt it from outside about 17/18 weeks and been watching her since 21 and this is my first prengnancy too.
when i was up the hospital last week saying shed not moved much they were asking how long id been feeling her for and were shocked to know id been feeling her for 10 weeks now, i guess they thought i could be missing them as some people dont feel them until 24 weeks.

no offence to your parents, but they dont know what you can or cant feel.
I've had flutters regularly since about 14 weeks, and get pretty obvious movements most days now!

All books say you may start to feel baby by 13/14 weeks, some women dont till after 20 so everyone is different
