Feeling down

I am feeling so down at the moment. I feel I have really failed Ellie. I am going back to work next week and she won't take a bottle. I am now spending my last week with her fighting to try and give her the bottle getting really teary and upset. I was stupid to stop giving her a bottle of expressed milk on a regular basis, I just complacent because she seemed happy switching I just went with what was easiest for me.

nick u havent failed ellie, hun! babe your a great mummy and I understand how you feel about going back to work but just keep at it hun you'll get it its just going to take time, let us know how your getting on hun xxx

Nicky. You are a great Mum and always do what is best for Ellie. She has drank form a bottle before and she will again, she just loves the closeness of feeding from her Mum. You have been through bigger obstacles than this when she had her colic, I am sure this will soon be resolved

Nicky don't get stressed about it - I know easier said than done!! You are a great mom regardless of you may think at the mo. Have you tried getting someone else to feed her? Maybe you could try and get someone to bottle feed her her evening meal - Otis is bottle fed expressed milk every evening either by myself or my OH. Maybe if you're not there she'll take it from someone else???

Thankyou all for your support. I read your posts before giving her her 1:30 feed, where after initial protest she took the bottle and drank it all straight down. It was only 70ml and she probably needed double that (judging by how long she spent on the breast afterwards) but I am so relieved. I will get more of for the bottle for her next feed. Thanks again.
