My lo is 17 weeks today and I've been exclusively bf. as some of you will know she's not been putting much weight on for a while now but today she lost some :-( I feel so awful that I've let this happen to her. We are starting to wean her now which I'm happy about but feel like such a failure to my beautiful little girl who I love more than anything in this world :-( sorry just needed to get it off my chest xxx

Firstly please don't blame yourself you have done nothing wrong and have given your child the very best start in life that you could , so well done you, your a fab mummy.
Secondly all children grow at very different rates and most breastfed struggle to keep up with those who are formula fed .
Thirdly piling on weight very quickly doesn't always equel healthy . Do listen to the advise of your h/v and doctor but do remember it is only advise and it's always up to you to decide what's best for your child . Good luck with the new journey into the world of weaning , have fun ,all the best xx

Hun you have done fantastically to get this far! Will you be continuing to breast feed as well as giving food? Either way you have done a wonderful job and I'm sure you will continue to :) good luck with weaning hun xx

Its not your fault - you have done so well bfing and given her the best start!

Thank you all for your kind words. Yes I still intend to bf while she is weaning, I want to go as long as possible, just so gutted with her weight :-( am really looking forward to weaning her though. As long as she is happy which she Definately is I will keep going. Thank you again ladies. Xxxx
