omg tri 2!!!!
I had my prenatal appointment yesterday, she found the heartbeat for a split second then baby swam away, and we heard lots of kicks on the doppler. It was so reassuring. I'm signed up for Centering pregnancy, which is a group prenatal appointment. I love it. I did that with 2 of my other kids and it's my favorite way to have these appointments - they're 2 hours long! So it's a group discussion format with women who are all due within a few weeks of each-other. Everyone yesterday was between 12-16 weeks so I was right in the middle at 14.

I guess next will be the anomaly scan. I can't wait to have that done, I really hope all looks good. I was feeling tons of movement this morning, I could cry with gratitude.

How is everyone feeling? I was an absolute wreck yesterday with fatigue, but today seems better so far. Fingers crossed.

Hey girls, I'm 14 weeks tomorrow, can't believe how fast it's gone!!
Lynsey can I please have a date change to the 6th please?

My mum is taking me to a "mum to be" Spa day on Thursday, I'm gonna get pampered lol.
Feeling good in myself at the moment apart from the heat still, looking forward to it getting cooler soon!

That sounds great kholl. I have my next appointment with the midwife in 2 weeks but I don't think much is involved just obs checked and a chat really.
I'm still feeling pretty rubbish but not been sick for 3 days but still nausea but it's a tiny bit better so I'll take it! Tiredness yea i was the same yesterday! Doesnt help that I wake at like 3 or 4 in the morning and can't sleep after that!
Bump is growing at the speed of light now lol I'm starting to get an outie belly button.

This is exciting! I hope all of you ladies are feeling better by now! Here in the USA my doctor says the end 12 weeks is the start of the second trimester. But I don't mind waiting to join, just figured I'd give a quick up date that my due date is the 16th now and not the 27th.

Well that's me being sick again! Got 3 days off from that but then it came back!
Who is planning on finding out gender? I can find out in 12 days and it's tempting but I was going to try and wait but my husband wants to know.

My brothers partner is in labour just now I'm so excited to meet my nephew when he is here. It's been such a ashame for her being induced and it's been going on forever. Xx

Lynsey soooo sorry you’re sick again that’s awful. Hopefully it doesn’t continue. And congratulations to your brother and SIL!

We didn’t find out the sex with any baby so far and we won’t this time either. Though I have strong girl feelings and I was right with all the others so I’m assuming it’s a girl!

Aaah they just called to schedule my 20-week scan!!! September 18! that's NEXT month! I can't believe it I'm so excited!

Fab kholl! That's a few days before mine.
Yesterday my sickness eased but I'm having symptoms of cystitis now. Will be drinking water like a mad woman all weekend and if I'm not better by Monday will need to go to gp for antibiotics.

I’m exhausted, my sleep is so bad.

I WAS excited about the scan but then I called so I could get a cost estimate only to find out insurance doesn’t cover it whatsoever! So I’ll be paying 100% out-of-pocket for it- could be up to $600. I will call again today to see if there’s any way to get it covered- I mean what could their excuse be? That it’s not technically necessary? Seems pretty freakin’ necessary to me...!

Well... I ended up taking my sample to Dr to be tested and turned out I did have an infection so was prescribed antibiotics. My dad picked them up for me and when I started googling I couldn't understand why I was given that particular anti b. So I phoned back down and it turned out the doctor didn't know I was pregnant despite me telling this to the receptionist on the phone when she was taking all my details and I was prescribed ones that can cause abnormalities in the spine , skull, palate etc!! They apologised and issued me with another prescription for an anti b that's proven safe in pregnancy. But how scary ...I know they say stay away from Google but in this instance I'm so glad I googled the name of the drug and checked it out before taking!

Kholl that is insane!
I can't imagine paying that kind of money. We get our 12 and 20 week on the NHS and don't pay anything but even when I have had my private scans they were still like £40 or so nothing major like that!
Really hope you can get it covered. It seems so unfair xx

Yeah insurance here is tricky. I do have to say the standard of care is wonderful and I do try to focus on that but sometimes with stuff like this it’s just so infuriating! I don’t think skipping the 20-week scan is optional but I don’t see how they can say something is necessary and then not cover it! Frustrating. Well, they don’t know who they’re dealing with... I’ll fight this one to the bitter end! Haha

Hi All! I’ve reached tri 2 finally (yesterday). Can you change my due date to 8 Feb please?

Have had very few symptoms throughout but annoyingly seems to have started feeling nauseous a lot more since 12 weeks, which I’m sure is when it’s supposed to stop not start!!

Getting a little podge now, people have started noticing which is quite surreal!!

I'm back from my holiday Had a fantastic time and I have two appointments on Monday, annoyingly though I don't know what time they are - I've had the texts saying I have them and missed appointments cost the hospital £160 amount however the text doesn't have a time on it and the hospital haven't sent the letters out yet so I'll have to call up first thing on Monday and hope that the appointments are late morning or early afternoon.

Hope you are all doing well. I can't wait for my scan, although getting nervous about it now as well.

Hi ladies, hope you're all doing well and had a good weekend

I finally bought my first pair of maternity jeans today! Really feeling real now! My bump is constantly growing and my new jeans just make it more obvious!

All is going well at the moment, I have my gender scan on the 20th of September, I'm pretty sure we're having a girl, just got that feeling.
I'll be 15 weeks on Wednesday, I can't believe how fast it's all going!

My scan is at 3pm; at least I think it's my scan. I didn't get the letter so had to call up and they just said I have an appointment at 3pm so I'm hoping it's my scan. I'm really concerned about the letters not coming through from the hospital though as I'm worried I'll miss my next scan and any midwife appointments I'm meant to have there.

I'm also a bit worried about the scan; worried that the baby stopped growing at some point or that there's something wrong :/
I'm also worried about after the scan as we are going to have to arrange to tell our friends who recently lost their baby. I don't know how to tell them or how they will take it I really don't want to hurt them but I know hiding it any longer now will hurt them more as we will end up potentially finding out through someone else.

Ah Phillipa you look so great! How are you feeling? I feel this one is a girl too but we won't know until (s)he is born! September 20 is not far away. That's 2 days after my anatomy scan! it is going fast now.

Donna I hope your appointment goes well, I'm sure all is fine in there. That is absolutely heartbreaking about your friends, losing a baby is absolutely unfathomable to me, I don't know how anyone gets through it. This is a little different but my best friend has been TTC for almost 3 years with no luck (and one miscarriage) and I had to tell her of course, I did so over text (she just moved far away) and said I knew it had to bring up mixed feelings for her... I think that acknowledging that it's not all happy news for them and being sensitive and acknowledging the pain your news must cause is all you can do. And, like you said, doing it sooner rather than later. I think if you usually talk on the phone, do it over the phone; if you usually text, text (my BFF and I text a lot); if you usually talk in person, maybe do that in person... it is tricky and it will make her sad but it's good to be honest asap and sensitive. My heart goes out to them.
