well, i could do with losing a few pounds, im not the size of a house or anything but every little helps in the ltttc journey.

i think to be successful i need to do something structured so thinking weight watchers may be good for me.

I know laurat (hi laurat ) follows this, can you or anyones else on the ww wagon give me any advice? like how the hell do you know how many points are in a sandwich or meal you make at home?

thanks

I have done every diet going and personally find slimming world suits me better but a friend of mine lost a stone and a half on ww . Good luck x

Hi itsbabytime

As you say every little helps and for me the only time I've seen EWCM in my cycles since TTC have been the months I've actually exercised, so I think you're onto a Good Thing (TM).

I've never tried anything structured like WW but have been on a number of successful diets in the past, which always started by cutting out junk food first (e.g. no crisps one week, and then once I'd got used to that, progressively adding other things like chocolate etc to the no-eat list each time).

It's also helpful to look up low-fat/calorie alternatives to your favourite snacks/food so you don't miss out when you wanna eat. Also there are some tasty options hot chocolate 40-kcal drinks which are quite filling and nice.

Hope it goes well :)

Hey, no probs I can help you honey! WW has changed my life! Have you decided to follow the plan on your own or online or what? I suggest at least online to get use of the app (if you have an iphone) and all the tools on ww inline. I think they are a must at least. You then find out how many PP you are allowed a day. Depends in height and wright and age I think!

Everything that you eat and drink has a ProPoints value thats worked out using 4 key nutritional facts. Protein, Carbs, fat and fibre. Fruit and most veg is free as is tea and diet juice etc though. You put these values in to a calculator or we i-phone app and it comes up the points. Also there is a database and books with your everyday foods in it. It all sounds a bit conplicated but you really do get into the swing of it and its easy when you start. So to give you an example today my lunch was

2 x bread 2PP
tin of tuna and tomato and swetcorn 2 PP.
options hot chocolate 2PP
WW youghut 2PP
Banana, pear and tomato 0PP

You keep a track of your food every day. I dont really buy many WW foods though they are quite overpriced in my opnion and you can get foods just as good but you just work out the PP yourself. Whistlestop of it. Happy to help if you need more. Maybe even PM me if you want!

hey thanks everyone.

i like the idea of the availability of the ww meals and snacks. if ive had a crappy day at work and cant be bothered to make something decent to eat if there is some ww stuff in the freezer or pantry i know i wont be tempted by the local chippy or dominos!

i like drinking tea and the ocassional coffee, perhaps with too much sugar though, so maybe the hot drink things are a good idea, i think they are called "Options."

laura you are actually the main reason i am considering ww. i know your impressive ww story and i also really like the adverts they have on telly at the moment. to remain motivated i will have to do it properly and go to weekly classes. i know its way more expensive this way but if i manage ok i could switch to online?

once ive been to the first class ill know how many points i have and ill be ready to go!

my doc hasnt said my weight isnt the reason i cant get pregnant but i am on the chubbier side of where i should be and he said just a 10% weight loss is hugely beneficial in terms of reeducing chloresterol, risk of diabetes etc etc.

thanks you again so much, and your PMing offer!

Weekly meetings is the best way Id say! Good Luck!!!!

Good luck itsbabytime, I've got friends who swear by ww also so it sounds great!! From what they say the meetings really help, to know there's a target each week and helps you not to slip up. Also the ww frozen dessert range is amazing!! I love them all, especially the banoffee sundaes, mmmm!! Good luck xxxxx

Good luck itisbabytime! I do Scottish slimmers & find that works for me. WW is great too, I have friends who have lost on it and think its great. Xxxx

Hi it's babytime - my best mate who is a little larger , has been ttc for 3 years since her 12 week mmc with no luck, she was lighter then and the docs told her to loose weight before he would give her clomid. She went on the cereal diet for two weeks of the last two months, (which I'm not a big fan off normally), but she did it to kickstart her off as she gives up quickly. She had cereal for breakie and lunch and then proper balanced , portion controlled evening meal, and then had two weeks off, just trying to be healthy and then back on the cereal for first two weeks of next month, and she had lost 1 and a half stone, which has stayed off so far.

She got her bfp two weeks later and is happily 6-7 weeks preg now, must have helped her ovulation or something..

Oh meant to say - Poundstretchers have the weight watchers snacks range for a bargain...

good luck
