This is my 2nd cycle TTC and it seems I go from a negative ovulation test one evening to a high fertility test the next morning with nothing in between?Does that effect my chances in any way ? I get EWCM the following 2 days post the postive ovulation test but just find it strange to have no middle ground ?

Any one that can shed some light on it would be good

A XX

hey hun

i have watery cm for 5days i took cbfm i got 2 lows woke up the next morning with ewcm tested with strip opk positive then the following day i did cbfm and was peak! my surge only lasted a day i think my ewcm went after 12 hours if that makes sense? xx

it is normal tho as ive researched this this is why they tell you to check twice a day so you dont miss the peak :)

Hi alexis my surge only lasted a few hours (1pm till around 8pm) and I think I ovulate the night I had the surge....apparently this can happen and us more common in older women (I'm 41). I had EWCM before and after. I think as long as you are dtd a couple of days before surge and then couple of days after the surge you should be ok. It's amazing how different our bodies are!

I am 33 ... I am unsure how long my surge lasts for as just used the CB ovulation test and the smiley face stays on the test for 2 days. I had the EWCM for 2 days after I got the surge. I am trying to get hubby to dtd the next 4 nights in a row but he is loaded with the cold

We had to dtd when my husband had a heavy cold too last week....I think he is glad of the rest at the moment! Ha ha! Definitely sounds like you are very fertile if you've had EWCM over last couple of days. Get :bd:

Think they can last between 6-8 hours up to 36 hours? I'm just one of those that only had it for s few hours so it's very easy to miss. I try and get around this by doing two or three opk's a day when I think the time is approaching.

Yeah ive bought the cheaper one step ones to do am and pm and then doing CB ones once a day on fertile week...

Its so crazy there's only 25% chance of a BFP if you dtd on your most fertile days ! I I will end up spending a fortune on tests at this rate! Glad to here I am not the only one with a quick LH surge !

The chances for me at 41 is even less and then the risk of miscarriage is 1 in 3 so not great odds! I've done the same bought a mixture of cheapie tests and cb. X

i must admit ive wasted so much money on opks wasnt getting anywhere till the clearblue dual hormone came out as that is amazing i use opks leading up too it like 2 days before ov i use clearblue xx

Is this your 1st your trying for? It's my 1st. I wish I had started trying ages ago . Been with my hubby 13 years married nearly 3 years but always thought it wasn't difficult to get pregnant. I am now so worried It doesn't happen and I've only started trying but from the stuff I've read online and from people's stories for trying for years I am now so anxious! All my friends have not long had a baby or are pregnant with baby number 2.

Yeah clear blue is a game changer ...hoping it helps us ! Cycle 2 already seems too long ! What cycle are you on ? Do you always find your surge?

clearblue is more accurate so i tend to go by that , this is my 2nd month trying... missed it last month as it appeared the same time i had the dam flu and i just wasnt feeling doing the deed lol ive only just realised how short the surge were thanks to clearblue before that id always miss it but didnt know just how short it was if that makes sense?

My 2nd month trying too but I missed the surge last month as tested positive 6am and was up to catch a train to manchester for work for w days so missed the best time....this time this hasn't happened! But still another few days of dtd before my fertile window is gone then its the dreaded 2ww !

Think mine are only a few hours. It doesn't really matter as long as you ovulate. Temping is a good way to tell if thats happened. Melly, apparently there are studies that say as long as you are healthy the chances in early 40s are good. You are also more likely to ovulate more than once a month if over 40. I've probably recommended this before, but the Impatient Women's Guide to pregnancy is really hopeful and reassuring.

Thanks sunflower, I will take a look at that. I would consider myself for be healthy, have a good diet and regularly exercise and my bmi is is the healthy range. So most factors are for me conceiving so let's hope the age thing doesn't get in the way! I wasn't aware women in the 40's might ovulate twice in a cycle...I'll watch out for that and get my DH dtd even more! Bet he'll be pleased!

I got the title wrong, it's The Impatient Women's Guide to Getting Pregnant. xx

Lol! Will look it up....sounds like it would suit me down to the ground! Thanks x
