I'm going to try and make this as short as possible because previously I typed out a whole (boring!) novel on it...then internet exploerer crashed! :wall:  However I get the feeling it will still be the length of a decent essay :rotfl:

We had our little man on 26th October. He arrived at 9.55pm weighing in at 6lbs 8oz.

I'd had constant back/hip ache, pelvic pains and sore boobs for the 4weeks before and was now over due. I was booked for a sweep on 29th October and would be discussing induction for 2nd November.

On 25th October the pains had pretty much all gone and I was feeling very fresh :D Me, hubby and father in law went to pizza hut in town but before we got to eat anything I started getting such bad tummy ache I had to dose up on paracetomol :( I had a nap for 2hrs when we got home and it had gone when I woke up but came back again in the early hours the next morning. I felt rough and slobbed about on the sofa all day.

I'll bullet point the rest of this as no need to go into great detail and to be honest the vast majority of it is a blur

* 3.30pm - watching hubby on pc...realised I'd just had 2 strong bh's so decided to time them 'just out of curiosity'
Turned out I had 2, 7mins apart and then they were every 5mins apart lasting 30-40secs and getting more uncomfortable each time.

* after making sure they didn't vanish after 30-40mins rang hospital who said to call back when every 3-4mins but sounded promising for him to make an arrival that night or the following morning

* rang my mum to let her know to make the 2hr drive up and as we were talking she was timing me and advised me they were every 4mins now and they were getting more painful so rang hopsital back who said to go in to be checked out.

* only 2cm dialted and cervix softening so sent me home saying it could take anything from 1hr til tomorrow morning for labour to be established.

* Minute got through door at home collapsed on sofa and start rithing around in undescribable pain - contractions strong and every 1-2mins. Hubby repeated rang hospital but they didn't want me back straight away and insisted I took paracetomol and a bath and stayed at home.

* Managed to stay home for an hour....contractions one on top of the other.....crying in pain and thrashing around....honestly thought I needed an ambulance but didn't want to scare hubby or make a scene if I was still only a few cm dialted. Eventually I cried down the phone to hospital midwife that there was no gap inbetween and I couldn't take it....they skeptically told me to come in then but they may have to send me home again.....

* Turns out I'm 6-7cm dilated now monitor shows strong and fast contractions

* Get scolded for thrashing around and crying and eventually given gas and air in an attempt to 'calm me down' as I was panicing and fighting against every contraction

* Hubby only just catches me in time as I nearly fall off the bed. Feel the uncontrolable need to push and midwife checks me goes mad shouting to get a bed and transfer me to delivery NOW or I wont make it....end up hobbling down the hall to the bed on the other ward supported by 2 midwives in an attempt to get me there in time...

* Next thing I know they're rushing me into theatre and advising me I need a c-section  I've been in so much pain I've been off my face on gas and air ever since they gave it to me

* The surgen decideds to let me try a bit longer to have him naturally in the theatre as the rest of her team prep

* Someone is asking repeatedly to start me on pain relief and start the operation but she's refusing and trying to get me angry enough to get him out. I end up getting cut to help and put in stirrups (with SPD...lovely   )

* He is born in theatre with a little help from the ventouse (sp?)

* We spend 3nights in on the ward as he wont take to breast feeding so I have to bottle feed him for 24hrs to prove he'll be ok if I take him home

Turns out he had the cord round his neck twice
Labour recorded as 'spontanious' and lasting 2hrs 58mins

We still struggled with breast feeding when we got home and my milk started to dry up from being engorged several days in a row so we've had to go to fully formula fed.
He was 6lbs 2oz when he was weighed at home but has put on 11oz in the last week and is now 6lbs 13oz

He didn't have a name until yesterday as hubby got all indecisive but we have kept the original name and just added a middle name.
So he is offically Farooq Sultan Uthman :cheer:
