facial neuralgia is pain in the nerves on the face it is very rare in the under 30s. does anyone know if this is related to pregnancy. im only 20 but am having very painful spasms down my cheek on the left side. occasionally it can be felt in my temple. if anyone has any information, or any other ideas as to what it could be, can you let me know please. thank you
xx

I get pain down my cheek when Im just about to get a mother of a coldsore, its a really stingy sharp shooting pain in a thin line down from my temple to the corner of my mouth. Could it be that?

Hiya, in my experience I facial neuralgia isn't related to pregnancy, but don't know if it can be triggered by changes during pregnancy to trigger the condition. Painful spasms can be attributed to any number of things, so if it's an ongoing problem for you I'd advise you to see your GP who can refer you to an appropriate person if necessary. I've seen facial neuralgia in under 50s so it does happen (I'm a physio). Could be something as simple as a coldsore like tangerinedream said, but would definitely recommend a trip to the docs if you're worried and if it persists.

its only started today but is so painful. i've never had a coldsore before so it could be that. although something just stressed me out and it got worse so could it be stress related? i suffer alot with stress but this is not something i have experienced before
