Morning girls.

When do babies develop their eye colour for life??

Hiya
Mason and Brody both have blue eyes, when they born born they were really dark and gradually got lighter so I'd guess around 2-3 months.

Isabella was born with very dark blue eyes and now they are quite piercing blue now. Wasnt quite sure if this would be her adult colour now?

My eyes are dark brown and DH's are piercing blue.

Are all babies born with blue eyes?

Yeah I think they are all born with blue eyes, might be wrong but I think I've read that somewhere.

Isaac has lovely blue eyes too, like his Dad. He's the spitting image of his Dad though.

It was thought that babies’ eyes generally reached their final colour by 6-12 months of age. But a long-term study of eye color found that 10-15% of peoples’ eye colors continued to change into adulthood.

So I guess Isabellas eye colour at the mo could change?

If it's bright blue I doubt it will change to brown now. My mums used to be blue but have gone grey/greeny/blue now. I don't think it would go from blue to brown? I could be wrong though xx

i love bright blue eyes

is it possible for a blue eyed mum and blue eyed dad to have a brown eyed baby?
or the other way round????

a girl i no has dark brown eyes her fella has dark brown eyes and the baby has bright blue eyes, every one is saying its not poss and he aint the dad???????

Dont know Dionne, but I always thought brown was the dominant colour??

It's possible for two brown eyed people to have a blue eyed baby, but not for two blue eyed people to have a brown eyed baby. I think.

I seem to remember that the blue eyed gene is recessive so you need two blue genes to make blue eyes but only one brown gene to make brown eyes.

If that makes sense?

 would about when 2 white people make a black baby though think it could be the case with eyes???? i feel real sorry for this lad he says every one says the baby cant be his, poor thing

maybebaby is right - it's possible for two brown eyed parents to have a blue eyed child.
Brown is the dominant gene, and blue is recessive...
so both parents would have to have one brown gene, and one blue gene, for this to happen. They would then both pass down their recessive blue genes to the child, so the child would end up with two blue genes, this having blue eyes:

But it's not possible for two blue eyed parents to have a brown eyed child, as you have to have 2 blue genes for a blue eyed person. Therefore, 2 blue eyed parents can only have blue eyed children:

Very well demonstrated Xena what do you do for a living?

I read that they had developed their life colour by 6 weeks but personally think thats rubbish as my dd eyes have continued to change.
My hubby has brown eyes, I have green and the dd has blue

The milkman also has blue eyes :rotfl:
