Olivia feeds every 2 hours and cluster feeds in the evening.

At what age do they take longer brakes and feed for longer?

:) Thanks

tasha as bubs get olderthey take shorter feeds coz they gulp it faster  thats what ive found anyway. Plus as they get older they have solids so they don't drink as much milk.

around 4 months old they settle into a pattern - almost a routine of feeding and sleeping.

Up til about 4 months Ewan fed every hour and a half to two hours and would feed almost every 40 mins in the evening from about 6pm. Very waring
He gradually settled in to a vague routine around 4-5 months, his feeds would be over in about 15 mins or less he was such a guzzler and generally took both sides!
Breatfeeding can feel so demanding at first but it does settle down.

luckily for me i got a lazy baby...

i have to wake her in the day for her feeds which are:

9...12...3...6...

then \she wakes at 8 on her own has a feed and a bath then feeds on and off till 11 then she sleeps thru!!

I was worried she wasnt gettin enuff as i thought bf babies fed 2 hourly night and day... but from her weightgain she obviously is...

Ah ok thankyou for your replys, all normal then :)

i asked the HV this the otehr day and she said exclusively breastfed bubbas dont nede weaning till 6 months..

but i suppose every baby is different?

Rachael had some baby rice last night tasha!!! :cheer: she loved it!

she had began waking up at night a lot so i gave her some baby rice last night an hour before bed and she slept normally again.

your baby will let you know when he/she wants more grub. I think between 3 and four months they normally want more. But it varies :)

well i wouldn't say give babies anything other than milk until they are 12 weeks.
My eldest daughter and third daughter wanted more grub at 12 weeks and so i gave them rice.
you have to be sure its not just another growth spurt though before trying rice.

Its not weaning as such to give a few spoons of rice befroe bed in my opinion - :)

fair way off yet... as shes defo contented on mummys milk and gaining like a trooper, my mum keeps sayin the HV is advice only not gospel, i suppose thats true to a point..

personally i don't take any notice of healthvisitors. they are just reading from a text book - i take each bubba as an individual :)

Ok I shall play it by how Olivia is, We are definatly in a rountine with feeding now so ill know when she is ready.

Thankyou :D

I never listen either, neither did my mum. The only thing I get out of them is getting her weighed :)

I agree with budge - ewan started taking a couple of spoonfuls of baby rice a week before he was 4 months.

I tried Gabriella on some baby rice last week and she loves it; she has also had some mashed banana and this is definitely her fav!

All babies are different. Gabriella still wakes for a feed in the night at the moment also
