Hi Everyone,

I have just returned from EPU after some concerns with brown spotting and occasional discomfort.
I was given an abdominal scan which showed nothing but the internal scan showed what looked like a small sac (unsure at this stage if there is a pregnancy) and ruled out ectopic.

Report states: tiny echo free bubble measuring 3.8mm, no internal echos seen.
Endometrium is thick measuring 30mm.
Findings are that of a failing early gestation (when related to LMP) or a very early gestation.

Last period started 26 February (approx. 6 weeks 1 day)
Negative test 27 March.
Positive test 5th/6th/8th/9th
Digital tests puts me at 2-3 weeks pregnant.

Midwife thinks my dates may be wrong, so bloods were taken and I will hear back today.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Just feeling a bit deflated and I don't want to get ahead of myself.

Thanks

D x

How long are your cycles normally? Did you track ovulation? Just thinking perhaps you aren’t as far along as you think. Are they going to rescan you in a few weeks?

Sorry to be blunt... I had a scan at 6 weeks nothing in sac, brown spotting etc they said i was just too early. It resulted in miscarrige for me sadly.
BUT there are alot of women on here how have been told nothing in sac and gone one to have healthy pregnancies.
Just didnt wanna lie to you, again sorry for being blunt. Fingers crossed that your just tol early and baby is too tiny to be seen x

i had a scan at 6-1 and saw fetal pole and sac and heartbeat with the measurements similar at about 3mm, if digi says 2-3 you are possibly 5 weeks, dependant on your ovulation dates also you may be earlier

I dont want to give you false hope but there is still a chance you're early and your brown spotting and cramps are implantation

of course there is also the chance that something has gone wrong xx

wait a week and be rescanned, its really all you can do at this point lovely! FX for you hun

The midwife called and my HCG level was 1519 and progesterone was 45.
She said it's not bad but low for the 6 weeks I calculate, so I'm probably earlier than first thought.
Going back in on Thursday for further bloods.
Fingers crossed x

You won’t see much at those levels hun. I was told they needed to be 3000 plus. You probably are less pregnant than your LmP suggests. Maybe you ovulated later.

Good luck with the next scan.

Bare in mind with digital tests you always have to add two weeks to what they say xo

I attended EPU again this morning for further bloods.
My HCG levels were at 2914 today (Previously 1519)
The midwife did say that although this is almost double it still isn't enough, and after discussing it with the doctor they feel it's best to come in tomorrow for further scans to determine whether the pregnancy is progressing or whether it is ectopic.
One thing she said that made think is that they go off an online tool for HCG levels, so they're likely to be following protocol/guidelines.
I am hopeful, but I just want to the know outcome, good or bad. So I can start moving forward.

Good luck, will be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Honestly I think at least 9 out of 10 posts I've seen on here where hcg wasn't quite doubling turned out badly, but there is the occasional time things seem to catch up and turn out fine. Limbo is horrid. I really hope you get good news but I at least hope you find out what is going on either way before too long. Hugs

Hello.
Thank you all for your kind replies.
The midwife explained that I calculated as high risk for ectopic pregnancy.
Brown spotting has continued, but only after wiping.
The sonographer was confused why I was back in so soon as she wasn't certain we'd see anything new.
This time she saw the 'bubble' on the abdominal scan and the vaginal scan showed a yolk and sac and measures approximately 5 week (1 week 4 days less than first thought)
I am back in in 2 weeks time for a scan to check on the progress.
I feel relieved to finally have some answers!
Thanks
D x
