Has anyone done one?? How did you find it? I'm thinking of doing mine with the open university at the same time as working because I can't really afford to do it at uni full time :(

I'm not doing one, but I would like to. I think it'd be a good idea to go with the Open Uni, as it means it is more flexible for you and your family :)

That's my plan :) I've just applied anyway :D! Excited!!

I really fancy this myself. Best of luck.

Using Tapatalk can't see no tickers grrrrr.

I did mine at Huddersfield Uni before going on to do my teaching degree, I loved it and as long as you enjoy reading you will love it! I think it would probably be a good one to do via open university as it is all text and essay-based. Good luck : - ) x

I did mine 20 years ago, so it may have changed, but I second the lot of reading involved. Are there particular genres that you are interested in? It may be a good idea to get a list of what the books on the syllabus are, in case there are some that you are not familiar with, it will also give you an idea of how much is involved and how long you want to take to do it.

Good luck, I love reading, make sure you throw the TV out ;)

Well I've got my email through today to finalise my selections and it appears I'm not eligible for a loan but I think I pressed something wrong in my half asleep state so I've sent an email to them to double check. I don't think if be able to do it without a student loan :(

Did u do A level English? Maybe you could take that again, unless u got an A or B...

I didn't but I've looked on Salford and Manchester's websites and I could go do an English degree there part time with what I have but the open uni was better for me because of the distance learning. I'm worrying now that my head isn't in the right place to do it :( and its a lot of money to waste but at the same time I know if I don't do it now I never will.

Just waiting for them to get back to me after the new year for some help on this loan situation and then hopefully it will be all sorted.

Maybe you could do A level English, it'll be less expensive and will give you a good intro. I think there are places that do distance learning A levels.
