Went for a 36wk growth scan tues 8th July as baby wasn't growing. Wanted to admit then for induction but induction ward was full for next 2days. Had go Mau for monitoring on the wed, and call at 9am thursday 10/07 for time go in, they rang me at 8.15 & asked me to be there for 9.30am.

Propess pessary given at 10.30am Thursday monitored every 4hours. Was told to get rest Thursday night - If only. Friday 11/07 at 3.10pm waters were broke, 7.10pm on a drip in delivery suite. Contractions regular till 2am where I had no pain relief up to this point. 2nd drip attached at 2am, contractions close together and strong was now on gas and air, reading the sheet the midwife said shouldn't be long now. At 6am I was checked and was still only 2cms dilated - which is what I was when they broke my waters.

Drs and registrar then entered room and told me I had to have emergency c-section as hadn't dilated and baby as not engaged. Signed the form and was wheeled down to theatre. The dr stuck to my birth plan and allowed graham to look at sex of baby and then tell me - what a mahoosive shock that it was a boy coming from a family of girls. Elwood arrived at 7.28am sat 12th July 2014 weighing 5lb 3oz and 50cm long.

He's so scrawny he's in prem nappies still.

Awww gorgeous and lovely name. Elwood was born the day before Cai and Cai is still in preterm nappies too! Hope you are both doing well and getting plenty rest x
