"effaceing" pains- how long now?

i'm due tomorrow and last nite was getting crampy pains every 6 or 7 mins so called MWs out. they examined me and i wasnt even dilated, but apparently my cervix is effaced and what i'm feeling is probably 'effaceing pains'.
this morning still getting them but not as often, every 20 mins or so.

has anyone had these and how long does it take to progress into labour?

It's not an exact science I'm afraid Trixipaws. My cervix began effacing from 27 weeks!!! I was put on bed rest.

It does sound to me like you're in pre-labour though hun. Get some rest and keep us informed!
