Eep! Need public bf advice

Just remembered we are meeting family at a restaurant in the late afternoon. I'm worried about having to feed Emily in front of everyone. Personally, I wouldn't care if they were strangers, but not sure I want our close family too see my boob if Emily gets hungry . I am going to feed her just before we go out...so might noted to feed again till we get home. But I'm not sure what is the best kind of top to wear just in case I need to top her off while we are out. I was thinking of taking her for a change and getting her latched on in the restroom, then coming out covered up...but not sure I like the idea. Dh made a big deal about holding a cover over me last time I had to try and bf in public - trying to protect my 'dignity'. Really it just drew more attention and put Emily off and she refused to feed :-/ He was well intentioned but needed to learn to just chill.

A vest top under a loose fitting top, pull the vest top down and the other top up, will keep everything covered discreetly. Once she's on it'll be fine! try to relax about it, or she'll sense your anxiety which will make it harder for both of you. X

Agreed. My best feeding outfits are loose fitting tops that naturally fall down and cover everything with a vest underneath to cover your tummy.

As the others have said and if you wanted to be even more discreet maybe a scarf too (not the wooly kind !) then you can position it not quite over her but to obscure any boobage on view. I had a cover up thing like an apron for such occasions - I was the same, no problem with strangers seeing my boobs but male family and friends was a big no. My oh was the same as yours! In the year I was feeding he never quite chilled out in public with it!! xx

It worked a treat! Dh tried to pull a blanket over to help cover any showing boob....until I looked up and said I didn't have x ray vision and needed lo to latch on before she got covered lol. He relaxed which helped us relax and Emily got her dinner

Vest top under a top works well. I dont cover up around family either, if my baby is hungry, baby gets fed and not in a bathroom, yuck

well done Its really hard feeding in public at first but soon you will be doing it without a second thought. Most people wouldnt even notice your doing but i know what you mean about feeding infront of people you know, took me a while at first but now i dont care. I wear vest top underneath too theres also tops you can buy but they can be a bit pricey x

I just use tops I can pull up, no vest, baby covers my belly anyway.
