Hey girls,

I went to the doctor today to get my referral to my chosen hospital.
He asked my LMP (18/02/12) and used that curcle shaped thing (oh I am down with the lingo lol) to predict estimated due date, he has put me as due 26th Nov but all the online ones put me at 24th Nov, even the ones where you can estimate by ovulation day. I know its only 2 days difference but its 2 days nearer or further from 6 weeks...I know its silly, which would you go by?

Oh and I forgot to ask if its ok to continue to use my exercise bike (obv gentle cycling), anybody know this? I got there and my mind went blank xx

Wow - your Dr was still using the wheel thing? That is proper old school.

Mine at least an online calculator LOL!

I think all GP's date us using a 28 day cycle. Mine did actually agree with me though and I'd gone with Ov date.

I am sure the exercise bike is fine, but someone else can help with that!

xxxxxxxxx

both my doctor and midwife use the circle thing lol x

My doctor used the circle thing too which said 11 november, whereas the online calculators were saying 6 november

I've heard that first babies are often late so i'm inclined to go with the later date simply for that reason x

So you're going for 11th November?? That wouldn't make you 8 weeks yet?

(sorry I was just nosing at your ticker!!)

xxxxxxxx

Hey hun, my OH is a personal trainer so asked him for you. He said if this is an exercise you are used to doing then it is fine to keep this up. Just make sure that it isn't too strenuous (i.e. you're sweating like crazy) as you don't want to raise your body temp too much. Gentle cycling will be totally fine just now but once you get later on, say after 7/8 months you may need to ease off a little. Hope this helps! xx

That was really kind of you to find out for me, thanks for that, I really appreciate it :-) It is something I am used to so I will continue but not to the point of sweating, I just want to keep up some sort of fitness regime :-) xx

I know, i was surprised when I saw him get that out, they used that 10 years ago when I was pregnant with my son. I thought it odd that they just predict it without asking cycle length...mine would have been a 28 day cycle, I guess I will just have to wait for scan to get a date but dont know what I am gonna go with in the meantime xx

My EDD is 20th November (online and according to doctor) and my LMP was 14/02/2012. So I'm confused why, with a LMP of 4 days later than mine your GP is quoting you 6 days later than me?

I would say that 24th of November is your EDD.
