If you don't have to go to 40 weeks though hopefully you are only looking at a nice 8 lb'er

please god not 40 weeks.... roland will be coming out...as his huge grange hill size!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I had a growth scan last week and they estimated baby's weight at 7lb (I was only 6 and a bit when I was born!) I have been panicking ever since and I don't get to the consultant until nxt Tues! Plus I am really small 5'1 and size 6/8 before (which I think it what is worrying everyone).

BUT

My midwife said that they don't think it is accurate as they estimate the weight based on the length of the femur only, so it could be a small baby weight wise, just with long legs!

Oh god that would make total sense as my husband and his family are giants...
i thought they did it on head circumference, abdominal circ & femur length...only because thats the measurements on my notes?
I don't know...
Thanks though

my growth scan they used the 3 measurements , head , tummy and leg length ! still got it wrong tho :rotfl:

I have all of those measurements too, but midwife says that it is only the femur length that informs the estimated weight (this isn't much consolation to me as all of my measurements were huge!)

She did also say that she was told her son was going to be 9lb and he was 5! So here's hoping that they aren't that accurate. I'm thinking I might just ask for an elective c section!

Awwww Anna, you sound really stressed out

There's nothing wrong with having a lovely healthy biffbaby! There are quite a few of them cooking on here at the moment!

BIFF BABIES RULE!

:rotfl:
