Please help!
Hattie has developed this pattern of eating pretty much ALL day, its driving me insane. She is gaining weight really well but she is just grazing all day and never seems to get full. If I stop feeding her she kicks off in a big way! Only way to stop her is to put her in the pram and take her out and she falls asleep. I don't think she is sleeping enough during the day because of the constant feeding. I also don't think my boobs ever get the opportunity to refill properly which is not helping the situation. I would say a growth spurt (she is 4.5 weeks) but this has been going on for a couple of weeks now. My boobs are killing me by the end of the day! Any helpful hints in breaking this pattern?
Many thanks for all the help you have already given me!

I think Baillie was attached to my nipples by velcro for the first two months! She's still pretty young and your milk supply is still becoming established so I would either continue to go with the flow - Or try to express and give her a bottle of expressed milk as this should hopefully keep her satisfied for a bit.

Hope this helps!

Sounds normal to me hun. She is still small and growth spurts are quite frequent atm.

She sounds like she is feeding to get your supply going. Usually by about 6 weeks your supply is sorted to meet her demand and she should start to settle down.

Comfort sucking can be awkward I know. Galen did this and it was really difficult.

Is she screaming and fussing all the time when you take her off your boob or at certain times of the day is it worse? Does she seem in any pain or uncomfortable? I ask as she may have colic and sucking helps relieve it. Only sucking taking in breast milk makes it worse. She may need a dummy if its colic, to have between feeds. And Infacol or some such before actual feeds. Winding well after.

Galen developed colic around 3 weeks old. We gave him Infacol before every feed and winded well after. He also then had a dummy when off my boob to help ease his colic pains and was much happier and didn't want or need to spend so much time on my boob.

I would just follow her lead still for now but also make sure you spend a good amount of time winding her  It can get tedious at times but it is all worthwhile as it is establishing a great supply for her, very best wishes

Have you tried giving her a dummy if you suspect she's just comfort sucking? (She'll let you know if she's not  ). If she's just wanting to suck on something at least it'll give your poor boobies a bit of a break.
