Im a little confused

I started weaning at 17 weeks and she now has bananna porridge and bottle for breckfast , bottle at 12 and bottle and puree at 4 then bottle at bed

Had planned all along on making my own food but with moving house and all sorts of madness going on iv ended up giving her hipp organic jars, will change that in next few weeks when im more organised n get around to buying a steamer

Just dont know where to go from here, when do i offer finger food like toast or what is best to start with and should i give the 6 months jars now tht will be bit ticker? even though she isnt 6 months yet? or stick to puree and add a 3rd meal?

Also what do your LO's have and at what times just to get idea of what works for people cos im a lil lost and dont know where all my weaning stuff went with the move

She also hunches over and sucks the spoon and just grabs the food with her hands and sucks it off her fingers , she can sit up straight no problem just wont when eating , it drives me mad

i give alyssa bread sticks and rice crackers and toast. as well as rusk whole. things that go soft when sucked on lol. ive pretty much done that from the start. melon is a good one too as it mushes to watery juice when sucked on :)

Alyssa has bf at 7am, rusk or ready brek with pureed fruit at 9.30am and a bottle. bf at 11ish/12 bottle at 2ish and now tea at 5 ish and a bottle at 6 then bf at 7.30/8 before bed. i just pureed a couple of sweet potatoes as a tea base then will add meat from my tea or another veg. something off my tea lol

Oh do you just hand her the whole ruck or rice cracker n let her at it of just give her a little bit to suck on?

im just so nervous of her choking she is such a rough monster im afraid she would try to swallow the whole think lol so you think a finger of toast might be ok now then?

i give her half a rusk to hold and gum as it kinda melts and yeah id happily give toast strips. if she gags on it hun dont panic as its nowhere near the back of her throat when it triggers the gag reflex and they will gag a few times on new textures, its how they learn to chew. toast goes soft and soggy so she can gum/suck it to death happily lol

Thanks hun im just soooo nervous of her choking , think il wait till OH is here with me before trying that one so haha

Gave her cheesy spinach and potato bake last nite which is ticker and she loved it and was doing more chewy actions than she does with the sorter puree so think she be ok to move on to 6 month jars till i can get sorted with making her own here

I started weaning at 16 weeks and now at 26 weeks (6 months) I have moved her into mashed food and organic finger food, (rice cakes, baby wotsits, toast) She loves her food!! X

yeah Alyssa makes chewing movements with her mouth when eating now, its so cute lol. she had melon yesterday off one of the ladies from my baby massage group and she loved sucking it to bits lol.

Aww thes brilliant, so are you fully doing BLW ? or is giving bits like to suck on part of normal weaning, im so bloody lost lol

would like to give her bigger bits of things to suck or gum on aswell as TW if that makes sense?

i give her a rusk melted in her milk with pureed fruit for breakfast, at lunch time i let her have finger food snack things and then ive just started giving her pureed veg at teatime with some meat from my tea if its suitable. so kinda a mix. i do everything half and half it seems lol, no reason to be limited to blw or tw if u want to do a bit of both as long as it works for u. melon fingers went down well and i give her rice crackers in halfs so she can grip them easier

I gave finger foods and mashed fruit straight away and it hasn't been a problem he's a pro!
