Hey all i was wondering as my hospital wouldnt offer an early scan for me is there anywhere you can pay to have one done? Its just that if possible id like one done for some reassurance. Maybe in the next couple of weeks or so? Not sure when they do them from :?

Hi Hun

I am pretty sure you can pay for a viability scan from 7 weeks onwards.

All the best

Have you tried asking your gp? Or can you see another gp at your practice? If youre worried then it would be in yours and the babies interests for them to give you a scan, the only thing I can say if they wont is they don't think you have anything to worry about.

If you buy a baby magazine they do have adverts in for scans you can pay for.

Thanks ladies  The doctor said they wont offer extra scans etc really as unless this happened 3 times then they wouldnt keep a closer eye on you. Although saying we do have the consultant on the 22nd so i might just ask him and see what he says. :)

i was desperate for an early scan and asked my midwife, she rang the hospital and said that we werent sure about our dates so they are letting me have one next week otherwise i would of had to pay :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Yeh I was going to say the same as Kayzee, "pretend" you arent sure on the dates hun!

Hi!

I had a early scan at 7 weeks as I was bleeding (can you say you've bled? is that a really terrible thing to suggest?!) but found myself getting anxious again by 10+4 so I paid £85 for a private scan the clinic I went to offered dating scans from 6 weeks. I would definitely recommend having the reassurance scan privately if all else fails as it was such a relief to actually know everything was ok instead of being an emotional wreck worryng about it all the time.
Hope this helps xxxx
