Does anyone know where you can get the 1.6mm ear lobe expanders from that isnt off the internet?

I have the fun job of re-piercing someones ear and sticking on of them in lol

I'd say a piercing studio would either have or be able to order stretching tools although I'm not too sure that you can get stretching tools so small. I'd say they all start at 1.6mm or they did when I was stretching anyway.

ok cool ill have a look in town this weekend or something :)

am i right in thinking if im re-piercing the ear he should wait a while before using the stretching thing?

I think if the piercee wants to have nice tunnel and not end up with something looking like a cat's arse they should go and get it done by a professional.

What you're looking for is a taper bar or pin. If you really plan on doing it yourself, at least speak to a professional about the when and hows, rather than asking on a (non body-jewellery) related internet forum.

I'd recommend www.bmezine.com (beware, not safe for work, but possibly the best resource on body mods on teh web) for more online research

Was that intended to sound as bitchy as it does?

I can only help with internet sites sorry, but from what i read before you have to take it very slowly otherwise it does go funny.

I used to use a taper bar for my ears, i think i still have it, warning its painful, im not sure how far i got with it before i got bored lol

I didn't mean to be bitchy, but just gave -imho- sound advice, i.e. don't ask for a layman's opinion on a procedure which might well end up with a nasty result if not done right.

I have to agree if not done properly it can cause you to rip your ear and if that gets infected it can get nasty

im not just gonna rip his ear apart i know to research it was just asking where to get them from

abcd1234 what iinternet sites do you use? ill try persuading him to get it their so i aint trailing round

he likes pain

I'll see if i can find where i got mine from before, i had ones from 2mm to 6mm but i only got to 3mm then got bored lol.

That BMEzine site is really good, i think someone already posted a link to it.

cool ill check it out and pass it on to him. think he wants the 1.6mm ones cos that way he can get away with it at work

1.6mm is the standard size for belly and tonuge bars if that helps, most sites such as jobananas.com and bodyjewelleryshop.com will do different lengths and widths and they're quite cheap, the second is where i got my tragus studs from and the first i buy my tongue studs from.

Smallest stretchers i've bought were 2mm. But i went upto 16mm anyway haha. now it's back down to about 5mm
I've never seen one that small if i'm honest but sure somewhere may have them.
But what is the point in stretching someones ear to 1.6mm?
Doing too much to the lobe too quick will damage it or cause it to tear.
Best off just re-piercing wait a few weeks then do the stretching.

yeah thats what i thought really as he hasnt had anything in it for a while so will need to re heal again i assume

Is this plugs we're talking about?

That's definately a professionals job! I know my friend tapers her own ears, but she's kind of an expert on these things.
Are there no specialist body jewellery shop near you? That's were I get my equip.

The only thing my piercer has to get for me are anchor discs... their a little too new for the shop to have them.

good luck.

.

what you mean?[/quote:16gz3dmo]

I think she means.. what is the point in even trying because that's small..
Or something along those lines.

It would just be like having a bellybar in your lobe.. or so I would think.

i dunno why he wants it that small really :? thats men for ya lol

i havent really looked into it all yet...at the moment im just psyching myself up to re piercing the damn thing lol

i think its like the little circular ring things hes wanting :? i didnt know there was different ones

Sooo... plugs, yeah?

Lol. They're the little flesh tunnels? Does seem tiny tbh. I would honestly, let a professional do that. It will be worth the money in the end up... I have no experience because I have only piercings around both my ears, not really suitable for plugs imo.

All I can say is, you can re-pierce if you want... but I wouldn't let anyone other than my piercer near me. Just too risky. Just like I would never go to a dodgy tattoo artist! Both of these things are like... minor surgery!
