Dying Hair

I'm naturally dark brown and I want to dye my hair to a light brown/blonde colour, using a hair dye. Will it turn my hair a weird colour? I don't have the time to go to a hairdresser at the moment and want a new look

if you look on the packets it would show u the colour it should go, but im not sure if you would need to pre lighten it first if you wanted to go alot lighter than ur natural colour
