Hiya!
Jessica is two weeks short of 18 months. She's still in her cot and has been using sleeping bags since she was old enough. She's a fidget and goes round the bed a few good times in a night sleeping in various positions. She's not walking yet either.
I've noticed the sleeping bags she has are getting snug, they are 12-18 months so about to run their course and I'm considering a duvet instead of bigger bags?
Anyone any advice? Stick with bags til she's in a bed? Try a duvet? Concerned with a duvet in a cot there's nowhere for it to go if you know what I mean?
Thanks all x

We used sleep bags until we could no more! But Jacksons cot/toddler duvet was fine, theyr quite light and easy for baby to kick off if needed..

We have moved to duvets as he outgrew the sleeping bags, I just tuck the bottom in under his mattress so he can't pull it up. He wriggles around the bed too and always ends up on top of the duvet. I was under the impression that duvets are fine for 1 year+ as they can easily kick or throw it off.

Thanks both - do you use pillows?

I used gro bags until my son was about 16months. He was turning over in the night an the bag was getting all twisted and started waking him up. I got a lovely toddler duvet from mothercare. I tuck it under the mattress and he just goes under or on top depending how he feels lol. I dont use a pillow. Xx

I don't use pillows either, I think they're for 3+ or something?

We use a pillow and duvet in my son's cotbed (tucking the duvet underneath the mattress at the bottom of the bed). He's 22 months old. The pillow/duvet set from Mothercare said 18+ months on it, so I'm presuming a pillow is safe for a child of that age. That being said, he doesn't use either as he's supposed to and sleeps in the middle with the pillow at one end and the duvet bunched up at the other!

I had a similar dilemma around that age and kept my boy in sleep bags. He is just far too much of a fidget in bed, even now and I worried about him kicking blankets or a duvet off in the night with it being cold during the winter. We're moving him to a big boy bed soon so will switch to a duvet then.

Littlemonkey have u seen the gro to bed duvet? You can get it in cot bed or single bed side. The duvet poppers onto the fitted sheet so it can't be kicked off go over baby's head. You can also put a pillow in an it stay in place !! My boys in a cot atm but will be getting one of these when he goes into a bed xxx

We use a toddler duvet and 1 breathe easy pillow but thats only been since he moved into his toddler bed. Whilst in cot/cot bed i used no pillow and his cotbed quilt set and a blanket on the cold nights.

Xxx
