Just wondered if anyone else has tried this system? I watched DVD Friday and the jury still out ...

For those who have not heard of it:-

I can hear some of the words/cries some of the time. Need to watch again I think.

The "words" baby uses are:-

Neh - hungry
Owh - tired
Eh - windy
Heh - uncmfy / wet bum
Eairh - lower wind pain

DVD says "if baby does more than one word act on the dominant word e.g. if baby says Neh Neh Neh Eh Neh Neh - then act on the dominat need and feed baby"

Fraser says "Neh Eh Neh Eh Moooooo"

I say WTF does that mean? Lol

I saw it on another forum when I was trying to work out why Fraser was so noisy while sleeping. I looked into and ended uo buying the DVD.

The theory is that every baby (regardless of where in the world they are from) up to 3 months uses certain cries based on relfexes eg "neh" is the sucking reflex with sound added. So by tuning your ear to the cry you can meet your baby's needs more efficiently (before crying reaches hysterical stage) - therefore happier baby happier you!

I've watched the DVD again and I think there is definately something to it. I think I was doing the right things instinctively (most of the time) anyway but it's a great tool for first time parents and it has definitely increased my confidence in responding to cries. I was occaisonally feeding Fraser when he cried but the problem was actually wind. He is much less colicky since I started trying to decode his cries

Wow wish I'd known about it when Seb had colic! It sounds really interesting :)

interesting, there must be some truth in it. We always joked that Owen's hungry cry saounded like 'lait' when he was small and was saying the frnch for milk!! kinda fits with the theory ish

I still don't know what mooo means! Lol

Maybe he's doing "tired" and "hungry" together (just like me lol)

or maybe it's his cue to get you to sing old macdonald?!

crap Joke I know!:wall2:
