Has anyone given their baby a newborn before he recommended 4-6 weeks and been successful in that their baby has been able to use the dummy and still feed? Xx
I breastfed 3 out of 4 of my kids and all had a dummy by 4 weeks, I found it was the only way to get some rest between feeds when they were feeding for comfort x
Yes I have. I've broken all the rules and given a bottle as well as breastfeeding. My little boy is 5 weeks and has always happily taken dummy, breast or bottle xx
Yep, I did and my baby most definitely knew the difference! No confusion there
When my son was born the NICU baby doctors gave him a dummy straight away despite me breastfeeding
Good question tmum. I was wondering the same. Alexandra seems to be constantly feeding but I can't distinguish the difference between comfort and feeding yet
Thanks ladies!
We gave it a go and he took it the 1st time. The 2nd time I tried the look I got was priceless! Wish I hadve videoed it!
It was like are you serious?! There's nothing coming out of this haha!! I'm thinking he's having a wee growth spurt or something so hopefully the unsettledness will pass xx
My little girl had dummy from two weeks and had had a bottle of expressed milk by 4 weeks too and never had any confusion problems. Also she didn't like the first dummy I tried - the tommee tippee one that is orthodontic and sort of squished (came free with steriliser) by then I bought the tommee tippee ones that are just average tube shaped test like the size of your pinky finger and she loved it straight away. Only thing now is she is 8 months and I don't know how to stop giving it to her at night! X
