So I had been miserable for last few days as I've had very few signs of being anywhere near labour. However woke up with period cramps this morning and have had really quite a sore lower back since lunch time. Too uncomfy to sit on sofa and only comfy on my ball so I hoping things might be starting. Still no show or anything. Had a bath with 6 drops of clary sage oil (mixed with milk so it didn't congeal and give me a rash!) and Ive been sniffing it all day! Going to have another bath with it tonight. Hope I get some sleep tonight - might have busy few days ahead!!!

Good niggles!!! Hope this is it...being overdue sucks!! Xxx

Happy due date! Hope baby makes a show soon!

Hope they're good niggles! I keep analysing every twinge too and nothing for me yet.
Fingers crossed your turn into the real deal & bubs is on the way!

Everything stopped and although I've had a great nights sleep I reckon I might have to face the dreaded sweep at midwife today. So nervous about it though. Might see if they'll leave me til end of week to see if I start myself if everything is fine with baby. Really frustrating - especially when I thought things were kicking off!

I'm having a sweep today. I would say go for it because the mw might be able to give you an indication of how close to labour you are. Also, there will be plenty of examinations when you're actually in labour so this will give you a bitbof practice!! Xxxx

I guess you're right. The internals before and after labour are the bits I'm most nervous about. Sounds stupid,eh?! I had a really really over due smear last summer and cried all the way through, nurse ended up giving me a hug after it to calm me down!! But u are right, it'll give me a boost of confidence for labour and let me see what the next few days are likely to bring. I don't want a sweep but I am bloody terrified of being induced!!!!!!

You'll be fine, breathe, think of nice things and good luck x

I would definitely go for the sweep, might do enough to get labour/ nigges started again. Hope u get to meet ur baby soon.

How come ur getting a sweep at 40weeks? My mw won't do one til 41 weeks! Xx

Well I don't know for definite I'd get one. My midwife unit are extremely laid back and I've heard other folk be offered sweeps at 40+2. They might just ask me back at end of week or something.
