How Long/How Many Lessons Did It Take You Before You Passed, Roughly?

The OH Has Promised That As Soon As He Passes, We Can FINALLY Move To Wales- Back With All My Family So I Cant Wait

I'm doing a mock test this week and then booking my test (for about 6 weeks time) after I've done it regardless of how well I've done on the mock test.

I've been doing 2 hours every Sunday evening since Ryan was about 6 weeks.

So 21 double lessons so far, and then however many weeks longer it takes me.

I had 10 formal lessons and lots of unformal ones with my FIL.

Passed on third test (although I hotly dispute that I failed the second one )

Whole process took about 5/6 months.

Good luck, sounds like your bloke has a lot riding on it

Why doesnt he do an INtensive driving course? Thats what I am doing. Costs a bit but it means lessons/theory/test all done within a week

Can you not move back to Wales and he do his test when he gets there?

12 lessons and passed first time, within 3 months of starting learning to drive.

i passed theory first time

i passed practical third time- i was more relaxed coz after failing two already AND recognising the examiner as the guy who failed me the first time lol- i was expecting to fail again so i didnt get too worked up about it- im sure thats why i did better!

i THINK it took me about a year to pass but thats becuase i had the crappiest instructor ever then about 2-3 months before i took my test i changed instructor and he was brilliant, passed 2nd time!!

Just over a year but pasted first time!!

I think it too so long because my first instructer was rubbish i sacked him after he swore at me

It took me a year to get my license, but I am a slow learner and it took me ages to understand everything! It sounds like the same kind of thing in the UK as Australia, in that it could take a while but if you put your mind to it and work hard at it you can get it quite quickly (within a few months).
