silly question!

what is it and when can you start it???

any help would be great :D

A dreamfeed is one normally given around 11pm - I do mine at 11:30, 4hrs after her previous feed. Where you lift them up and feed them without making any effert to wake them. Initially I did a nappy change to wake her at this time, as I was trying to encourage her to drop the 4am ish feed. Once she dropped that feed, I stopped doing a nappy change and waking her at 11:30. Sometimes she wakes when I pick her up and go in but other times, she doesn't. Her eyes stay closed, but when I gently rub my nipple under her nose she starts rooting and I put her on the breast, she then drinks and (sometimes) comes off without waking.

where did you all hear of such a thing as a dream feed?
Louie is my 3rd baby & i have never heard of it  nor have none of my friends.
we just fed ours (awake) a last feed between 10/11 pm then they went to sleep sometime after.

surely a baby cannot bring up wind when its asleep, so wouldn't this lead to tummy ache?

Apparently because they are so relaxed during the feed you don't generally need to wind them. I just lift Ellie upto my shoulder and hold her for about 20-30 seconds occasionally she will give a small burp but not normally.

I first read about it on this forum. I later read about it in a book called Baby Secrets.
