MIL's can be nice or evil. Ur MIL sounds like a complete bitch. No offence.
Maybe I'm a bit too harsh but I'd hand it back n say I don't like it n I have one already.

I'm sorry your MIL is being horrible, mine used to be i was never doing anything right, in the end she relised that al she was doing was making us not want to go and visit and she can rememeber hating her nan for no reason mainly because she didn't like her mum and she was scared the kids would end up hating her too and after a big row we had years ago she changed her attitude towards me but she has shocked me this time and has been really supportive, I thought she would flip when she realised we were having a 6th but she was made up, hopefully things will change in time and you will find people have their own opinions and dont listen to what other people say. we actually get on now so there is hope.

Oh no, I can see the gesture, but it sounds a bit unsafe perhaps

I would wash it all and then give it back , if it's for use at her house then she can store it there.

Then as you say, you have no need to take and leave baby there! theres allwhays the feeding issues, and being away fro mum etc that will get in the way of that.

I have similar issues - My MIL likes to by duplicates of what ive bought! like i bought loads of blankets and nappy bags, and she bought a mirror of what i had for "when the baby is there" but the baby isnt going to ever be there unless we are visiting! it is very strange that they automatically assume youre just going to dump your child on them! not sure where they would have got that impression cos i certainly havent ever given them one!
Mine are trying to name our baby at the moment because me and OH arent really agreeing so we thought we would leave it a while. so the in laws are literally throwing names at us! im defo not going to use any of their suggestions for the principal of it. I told MIL what i liked ages ago and shes got it in her head that one of them was her suggestion so shes parading around like its the best choice because she chose it. dont think so! god help us all!

I have a difficult time getting along with my in-laws! I have so far kept my mouth shut but when it comes to my child I will not let them bully me my mum had this with her in laws and I watched that so I wont let it happen to me plus I actually dont care what people think of me so I will put them in there place if I have to!

Thanks ladies ! I just dont get how she can be really really nasty behind my back to OH and then be lovely to my face, I mean my OH is obviouslly going to tell me cause we are a very close couple with no secrets! If she has such a huge problem, why can't she speak out I know I do! but I feel this time I can't cause its all behind my back and hush hush

Thtas what my MIL did always slated me to my hubby but all it did was pushed him away. I think they have a hard time coming to terms that we are the women in their lives and they are not anymore, and once you start having babies they know for sure that we are now their family.

MIL are annoying! mine was going to be buying my pram after my 12 week scan...i said i wanted a new one cos its my first, she said that was fine...now shes trying to get me to get a cheap second hand one...xxx
