:cheer: :D How fantastic to hear that heartbeat! He/She must have been wriggling as it kept going louder then quieter!

How can I ensure that this is babys heartbeat and not mine?

EDIT - It was my own heartbeat that I was hearing as its intime with my pulse. Anyone got any tips on ensuring your hearing babys heartbeat and not ur own?

I am thinking of buying one, have just got off ebay from looking.

I believe that babies heartbeat is much faster then ours.

So pleased for you

I think maybe i'm picking up my own from the placenta? Although when I hold the probe over my own heart I feel nothing lol

Not sure, will have a nother go when OH is here so he cant check it intime with my pulse :)

aww im so pleased for you, i cant belive your 14 weeks!! :cheer: :cheer:

ok.. i found that where your heart beat is most strong down the middle of ur womb i put it just slightly off to the right of that and angled it inwards and found it right off..good luck.. perceveer it is there..its all about angles in there..

Great, ill give it another try later on when OH is here as didnt want to prod and poke too much earlier. I know that baby is slightly to the left above the abdomen as thats where each time ive had a scan the sonographer has placed the probe. I've found the placenta so im in the right area but just cant seem to find babys heartbeat!

i was told the placenta is a 'whoosing' sound where as the babys heart is like a horse galloping, really fast. hope this helps xx

yeah ive heard the wind.. alex has asked me if the wild wests going on in there..and if hes gonna hear gun shots in a min dunno where my placenta is.. but i pick up the wind just if its kept still then it goes.. so maybe its the baby moving or something

I think maybe if baby is still in position it was yesterday then I may not be able to find it yet to be honest as it was being awkward!

Shhhh u!! ;)

give it a go and dont worry.. it takes a wile to get it once u have picked it up it should be at that point every time.. as u have the same doppler as me.. try just slightly off centre to the right..the baby fills the womb now.. so try there.. and do it so u ca hear ut pulse and then leave/angle it different directions xx

I cant get anything at all on the right but more on the left, will give it another go... runs off to get doppler!

hi hun i was going recommend that website too as i have use it. r u putting doppler really low down. i used to have to put doppler right at the top of my hair line and the tilt it towards my pubic bone. it could be that baby is still quite low in uterus and still snugged up safely behind there. also move doppler really really slowly a millimetre at a time becus thats all it could take to find it. good luck. i found lyin on bed with nothing on bottom half a lot easier to find it in first few months. i also had an anterior placenta which made mine difficult.

xxxxxx

lol..i couldnt get anything there either.. its in the middle slightly off to the right just angled towards the left, if that makes sence?i had my hb and the babies in the same noise at 1st..

YEY!

Found it! It was tonnes fast than my heart beat but then it just disappear, could this be cos baby is moving around?

yeah.. and coz the gel is slidy.. u could have just slipped off it for a sec.. when u try again go to the same place.. where was it?

Quite high up and to the right but tilted probe towards public bone and slightly left, does that make sense? I kinda knew it was there cos thats where they scanned me yesterday but never thought of tipping it
