Hi

yesterday Kiara got her shots and told the doctor that Kiara eats every 2 hours 24/7 so he suggested trying her on baby rice but when i tried her on it she couldnt get it to the back of her throat to even swallow it, is this cuz shje aint ready and also could her being tongue tied have anything to do with this cuz my doctor also said previously they do the surgery if when they start solids they have troubles eating.
Any advice would be great dont wanna stress over nothing .

Hi Katrina

I think it's because her tongue-thrust reflex is still very strong which is making it difficult to get the food to the back of her throat, at our weaning class they said it was a sign they're not ready for soids yet but if your Doc mentioned the link to tongue tie perhaps it is down to it?

I also didn't realise how runny the rice should be, is it like "runny yoghurt"?

How long is she feeding for?

Thanks for your reply .
I think if she dotn eat it by 6 months then i will worry right now she might just not be ready for it .
The rice i had it slightly runny then kept adding more milk to it but didnt help at all.
At each feed she eats 5-10 minutes but has always eaten for that amount of time.
