I really dont know what to do.

My contractions are back, and still not regular, this has now been going on for 58hrs, and I feel exhausted. If I'm active, the pains seems to come more often, and feels worse, but resting up, they come less often.

Dont really want to phone the midwife AGAIN, but I just dont know whats going on.

Was thinking of taking ANOTHER bath, but just read online that it can actually slow things down.

Also at what point whould the midwife/consultant tell you what position the baby is in? I know he's head down, but i'm convinced he's been lying the wrong way as I've had back ache all the way through my pregnancy. I just read up that if he is facing the wrong way it can lead to much longer latent labour (I think 58hrs is long!) and more painful labour. Wondering if thats it.

So do i ring the midwife again? Perserve? My next app isnt until Fri, i dont know if I have the energy to last until then.

Sorry for my whinge (again) :( n....

I had a long latent phase (I thought 16 hours was long!!) And baby was back to back, are you having pain in your lower back with each contraction? I hope it's not too much longer for you, hun.

I'd ring the midwife.. it's her job to be there for you  hope things start to move faster for you xx

I've got constant pain in my back, and with each contraction it starts in the back, and works around to the front.

I would definitely ring the midwife hun cos you have been like that for a long time

She should at least be able to give you some advice or maybe arrange for you to be seen maybe tonight and then you will have some idea of what's going on.

Keep us updated

I'd call someone and plead your case - point out how exhausted and fed up you are, maybe they can help/speed things up somehow.
I really hope you feel better soon!

ring midwife hun and explain you are exhausted, hope its over quickly

Yep definately ring the midwife, it sounded like my contractions with the back pain. If you have a birthing ball, have a bounce and try to get him to turn. I think you should get checked out

I would call the midwife again. Spending time on all fours is supposed to encourage back to back babies to turn. Sounds like you're having a hard time

Poor you

This sounds like it's getting worse and worse - definitely take the others' advice and ring the midwife hun.

I'm off to bed now for my nightly BH torture so I can sympathise. I really hope you manage to get some sleep and that things get better for you soon

yep, what keli said,

aww hun, it must be rubbish for you at the mo :( I only had false pains for a couple of days and i was really dowbn too, but yours sound a lot worse than anything i had.

Ring your MW ...theres got to be SOMETHING they can do for you, surely? 58 hours is a very long time to be going through this. I hope it either eases up for you or that LO makes an appearence!!

Did you speak to your midwife Shadow? How are you feeling this morning?

Hopefully the end is near for you.

Well i finally rang the midwife at 10.30pm, and she told me my symptoms sounded like a kidney infection, but to pop on up to see her at the hosp (she prob only said that as I was crying out of sheer frustration).

So i went up, they tested my urine (++ again suprise suprise), and monitored me. My BP was ok, and the baby was moving ok, but the midwife could see I was getting regular tightenings (and from the look on my face she could tell they were painful). So she asked if i wanted an examination, and said whilst she was there she could give me a sweep too, to move things along for me (think she figured I was a bit stressed at this point). So I heartily agreed to the internal (pregnancy obviously messes up the brain!). I was expecting her to say that my cervix hadnt even decended or anything yet, but she told me it was a very favourable cervix, and had thinned out and i was currently 1.5cms dilated. WOOHOO! She did the sweep aswell, and said hopefully things should speed up for me now.

Was sooooooo relieved to find out that SOMETHING was happening, and it wasnt just in my head. So baby is on his way. The tightenings were much more painful last night, and 1st thing this morn, but have subsided again now- but she did say it possible they could stop all together for a while. Suppose the body does need a rest.

So feeling far more cheery this morn, even though when I get the pains I almost have to cry out!

Fingers crossed it wont be long.

Thanks to everyone for all their support when I wanted a moan, it nice to know I have so many friendly people to whinge to and to offer me support.   :D

Oh yay, i missed this...glad you've been seen! OOOhh you are gonna be soon too... sweep isn't that bad is it, especially when you get good news!!

I was expecting the sweep to be awful, especially as the midwife told me to prepare myself as they arent nice. Felt like all the other internals I've had when they were collecting samples from me for my Endometriosis.

Going to have another bath now. I told the midwife yest that i felt part amphibian as i'd had so many baths. She looked at me seriously took my hand and said "let me just check for webbing"...! She was lovely I hope i have her when i do go into labour :D

So glad you got checked out, and things sound quite encouraging. Really hope your sweep kicks something off for you
