does temp go up before or after O?

bit confused - even after trying to read up and look at other charts...lol

My temp dropped to lowest ever yesterday and then has came up a bit more today, but still below base line - but I have my + opk today so am expecting to O today or tomorrow.......so should my temp already have gone up or will it go up after O? Fertility friend has not detected O yet (obviously)

Ok from what i have read it says during the follicular phase the body temp remains fairly low, under the base line. The day after ov the temp wil raise by .4 degrees or more and if you have ovulated your temp remains high until af then drops again...or will stay high if you are pregnant.

So as your temp this morning hasnt taken you over the baseline of your chart i would assume that some thing has interputed your sleep last night, or your body just didnt rest well. An therefore have the odd temp reading?! This is all guess work tho!

I'm affraid its just a case of waiting it out to see what happens. I would bd tonight tho as you have your positive opk.

that's okay - it just seems the more you read the more confusing it seems - and I have been looking at other charts on ff to compare.....

I'm guessing that it should go up tomorrow as my opk only means I am about to O not that I have .......

your temping gets higher as you approach OV then it dips with AF.

I think I get it now - your temp dips just before O and then spikes after - so my chart is bang on target!

It should either spike tomorrow morning or next day after depending when I O.......

It came up a bit this morning, but only to base line - so fertility friend is still saying ovulation not detected! boo hiss - if it doesn't come up tomorrow, it looks like O fell flat on it's face and didn't happend. My cervix and Cm are no longer fertile either - so what's with that? my opk is still positive this morning, but not as dark as yesterday's tests.......ho hum.

Remember ov tests go positive 12-48 hours before ov and temp shift is the same time post ov. Add in the fact you're checking both once a day and it's not uncommon to have 5 days between the two signs

Also as the rule for ov is 3 temps higher than the previous 5 or 6 ff won't show ov until you have a sustained shift
