HI all

weve been up with leland for most of the night , yesterday he was really sleepy (slept more then awake i would say) and last night he was up most of the night, his temp reached 39.2 and came down to about 38 with calpol , when he woke again this morning it was back up to 39.1 but seems to be higher in one ear then the other , his had nurofen and teething granuals , his ust had a very big runny nappy and it seems his cut his 2nd tooth , should cutting his tooth cause such a temp ? he hasnt even got his helmet on cos his burning up , his never had a temp like this before  what do i do ?

If you're worried Gem, take him. There's no point in you sitting worried all day if you don't think he is right. It's always best to get them checked if you're worried.

Let me know how he is later. I'm taking Luke to the Docs this morning too about his cough (chest). xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Poor Leland! And poor you!

I was told (and I may be wrong!) that teething would make babies a bit warmer, but not have a high temp. I think anything up to 37.5/38 would be classed as warm, but 39 is a definate fever. I'd pop him to the docs luv, just in case!

Yeah hun, id take him to the Dr's, or call nhs direct, and see what they advise!!

I hope hes OK and it is just his toothy peggs giving him agro!

I'd get him checked too - I've heard the same as Lainey that teething can't make a temp as high as 39 and with the fact it went back up after the calpol wore off would make me think to get him double checked.

Hope he's ok.

Teething does not cause a fever. I'd get him checked if it continues. Keep him cool, and lots of fluids in the meantime.

aww poor Leland!!

hope he feels better soon. There is no such thing as being over cautious with babies. If you are worried then straight to the docs hun

Hope Lukey gets on ok too Debs xx

his temp is down to 36.8 :cheer: and his happy and smiling and alert now ! keeping a close eye on him and left his helmet off at mo ( its coming off tomorrow anyway lol ) his temp is no longer different in each ear either . if i was at home id have took him but im at mums and not registered here and its aload of faff to get in as an emergancy when your only a temp resisident  wont hesistate if his temp rises again tho, take him to a&e if i have too . so fingercrossed his temp stays down !

good luck luke , leland sends hugs xxx

It might be an ear infection?? Thats good his temp is down though.

glad his temp is down now hun
i would of said it sounds like an ear infection easily sorted if it is
xx

Ella had exactly the same thing last week, hun. We took her to the Docs and it was just a virus. We just kept her stripped off and gave her Calpol, after about 3 days she was back to normal.

were off home today debs .

his had a sickness virus only a week ago after his first tooth cut

just to update , ended up in a&e last night as his temp hit 40.2  his temp went down while there so they let us home , they think its might be a water infection but he wouldnt perform and pee in the bottle :wall: so got to try and get a sample today and take to the docs , his temp is still high this morning but his had his bottle and gone back to bed bless him , never seen him soo poorly  i even had to give him squash last night in hospital as they wanted him to drink , gonna go get some cranberry juice incase it is a water infection .

       Text me your home no and I will call you later xxxxxxxx

This happened to DD when she was 8 months, if it is a urine infection the antibiotics work very quickly, you'll be surprised how quick they bounce back.
