Thought I would pop back (blast from the past eh).
Damien doing well, turning 2 in December. Been seeing Speech and Language Therapist because he doesn't eat or talk properly, but otherwise is doing fab and terrible two's is kicking in!
Scarlett is ok but not great. She's still tube fed and is having surgery in 2.5 weeks, having a Gastrostomy tube put in, Nissens Fundoplication and a cyst removed on her face to be sent for testing. Had a Videofluroscopy done which showed she has slow eosophagal movemnt, severe dyspahgia and silent aspiration, so basically she cannot drink (so is nil by mouth) and they dont know if or when she will. The only thing she can have is very thick mushed food, and she still isnt weaned so she only has a taste evey few days or something. She had a Barium Swallow which showed she has severe reflux, and a PH probe test showed the level of reflux is horrendous, with the longest episode lasted 140 or something minutes, which is over 2 hours of acid going up and down, nice eh.
She's seeing physio's because of poor muscle tone, doesn't sit or anything at 9 months old, had right sided weakness and some brain damage. She's on a pump to feed her now through a nasogastric tube BUT she is a little star and copes amazingly, although to be honest she doesn't know any different.

I'm glad you're ok! I always wonder how your little ones are. Bless little scarlett, she's a brave little princess and a true fighter. I hope things improve with her soon. I can't believe how fast the time has gone though, Damien is nearly 2!!! Scary isn't it?!

It's be so long since i've been on here, (decided to come back and chat - see how everyone is) I had no idea you had another. Little scarlet sounds so brave. Was she born prem? Hope things improve for her. Ican't believe Damien is 2 already. I remember him being born - doesn't seem so long ago.
