No you wouldn't be entitled. It does have to be continous employment to qualify. Whether your firm is rigid or not - I don't know of any employer who would pay maternity pay if you don't qualify under the rules.

Is your OH a british national? - that would at least give you access to working families tax credits once the LO is born?
