When I was little I remember going to the newsagents/sweet shop and buying a quarter of lemon sherberts. He'd get the big jar down from the shelf and measure a quarter (I never knew what the quarter was of...I just knew that you had to ask for a QUARTER. I once thought about asking for half of lemon sherberts, but I thought he might give me literally half of one lemon sherbert! haha! maybe it was a quarter of an ounce or something. I never was very good with measurements).

Same for a quarter of lemon bon-bons.

Now they come in bags allready packeted.

Bring back the big jars of sweets!!

I used to live off milk ice lollys when I was young. I know their still around but they used to have a joke on the stick and come in paper packaging. Their not the same now that you dont have to peal the paper off the lolly hehe.

My older brother and sister used to love Caramacs (sp?) but I think you can still get them cant you??

We've got a shop in the centre of town called Ye Olde Sweet Shop, and it still sells sweets by the 1/4 from the jar in little white bags!!!! Yum.

My most fave sweets that I can't get here any more are Iced Cups. YUMMY!!!!! Last month for my friends b'day I found them on an online sweet shop and bought her 2 bags and 4 bags for me. I finished them all in less than a day

Sorry i couldnt help but think of this looking at the other posts just thinking what were our favourite sweets as a kid hmmm i had loads but i remember when opal fruits (now starburst) use to be a favourite of mine and as a kid to going to the sweety shop to buy our 1 penny sweets about 25p's worth and having to make them last all week always thought that was a bit unfair but it sure did make them last longer too! And i also remember Hubab Buba to coming in all different flavours and only being 10p a packet!! Oh my how times have changeg on us!!! Would be good to know everyone's favourite's if they had any?
